Today, we introduced the media to mom Katie and her new baby girl, Jasha. Katie may be the first pregnant woman to receive a new heart valve using a less invasive procedure called TAVR. After consulting with experts around the world, Providence doctors pursued this approach because open heart surgery would have been too risky for mom and baby.
