Read our CEO's Halloween CONFESSION from her LinkedIn post (click the link below to read the entire article): I have a confession, a dreaded confession. š« A confession that often leaves people confused, asking "why?" and I'm left to bluster out a half-hearted explanation in response. Making me an easy pariah this time of year. I hate Halloween. š I do; I absolutely hate Halloween! My family and friends could attest to the fact without reservation. There's something about the fake blood and costumes that I just don't understand. And I imagine elementary Deb upset again another year that I didn't have a cool costume like all the other kids. The whole business of trick-or-treating and finding a costume left me in such a state, and the displeasure has remained with me half a century later. I couldn't figure out how to make a costume I liked or felt comfortable in, and I felt uneasy going to stranger's houses. Suffice it to say that I'm definitely not a Halloween person. And yet, despite my personal dislike, ReEmployAbility decorates for Halloween and has a Halloween party every single year. Seeing my employees' enthusiasm for Halloween strengthens my resolve to celebrate. Our costume contest is always a hit, and nothing could stop our associates from transforming their desks into graveyards, spaceships, or haunted houses for the decorating contest.
On Fridays, we wear Pink in solidarity with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, ReEmployAbility will be donating proceeds from our internal fundraiser to a local nonprofit, My Hope Chest. Every year, from September 15th to October 15th, the United States comes alive with vibrant colors, flavors, and rhythms as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. ReEmployAbility recognizes our Hispanic team members' contributions, resilience, and diversity. Our new blog, https://www.reemployability.com/celebrating-hispanic-heritage-month, highlights some of our team members' cultural traditions and stories.
At the beginning of each month, we gather together for our company meeting. For our entire team, those remote or onsite, it's our opportunity to come together. We gather around our "Vision Wall" with the CEO and Senior Leadership to share updates, celebrate wins, tell good stories, and discuss current topics.
