After Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in September of 2017, the Arecibo, Barranquitas and Ramey Job Corps Centers on the island all closed. In May of 2018, the ResCare-operated Ramey Job Corps Center reopened and began welcoming students from all three centers back to its campus. It's been nearly a year since Hurricane Maria hit the island and created more than $100 billion worth of damage, which now makes the re-opening of the Ramey Job Corps center one of many celebrated efforts to restore Puerto Rico back to a sense of normalcy.
