Tapestry has been named by Newsweek as one of ‘America's Most Responsible Companies 2023!’ We’re ranked number 10 out of 500 companies, jumping up from number 189 on last year’s list. Congratulations to our teams who continue to stretch what’s possible in the fashion world and beyond - leading meaningful, positive change for our customers, employees and the communities where we live and work. ‘America’s Most Responsible Companies’ recognizes the top 500 most responsible companies in the United States, spanning 14 industries.
At Tapestry, we’re taking bold actions every day to protect our planet and build a more sustainable fashion industry. Today, we’re thrilled to join the launch of the Collective Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (CVPPA), an initiative of The Fashion Pact aimed at accelerating renewable electricity adoption by investing in new clean energy infrastructure, beginning in Europe. We’re joining 11 other CEOs and their respective organizations in committing to this collective action. More from our CEO, Joanne Crevoiserat, on why Tapestry joined this initiative: “Fashion companies must take every opportunity to accelerate action against climate change and transform how our industry operates. As a signatory and long-time supporter of The Fashion Pact, Tapestry is proud to be part of the Collective Virtual Power Purchase Agreement, which will ultimately support Tapestry’s commitment to procuring 100% renewable energy across our operations by 2025.”
In 2019, we set out with a goal to achieve 100,000 volunteer service hours by 2025 across Tapestry and our brands – Coach, kate spade new york, and Stuart Weitzman. Today, on International Volunteer Day, we’re proud to share that we reached this goal two-and-a-half years early! In that time, we’ve had over 5,700 volunteers serve over 1,370 nonprofits, with 1,400 team volunteering events taking place around the world. All of this was made possible by our employees’ passion for volunteerism and incredible community partners. But it doesn’t stop there! We are so inspired by our employees rising to meet the challenge that we’re setting the bar even higher, with a new goal of 500,000 volunteer service hours by 2030. Thank you to all of our team members who have stretched what’s possible for our communities.
At Tapestry, we believe that diverse perspectives are the greatest assets we have; we’re always on a journey to build a culture where our people – and their ideas – can thrive. We are taking part in #NetZeroActionDay today, joining the urgent call for world leaders and companies across the globe to take climate action to preserve our planet. The public and private sector alike can do far more to make reaching global net-zero a priority now and in the decades to come. In 2021, Tapestry signed the Business Ambition for 1.5⁰C, committing to set interim science-based emissions reduction targets to limit global warming to 1.5°C and reach net-zero global emissions by 2050 at the latest. We are proud to have committed to net-zero, but we know this is only the beginning, and we are on track to submit our targets for validation by the SBTi by the end of 2022.
