This semester, #Topco teamed with the Cases in Category Management course at @DePaul University in Chicago to tackle a case study covering packaged nuts in the market place. Under the guidance of Topco associates, the undergrads compiled some valuable insights and provided creative solutions for how to build a program in this category. Congratulations to the students who presented this week. We’re thrilled to spread the word about rewarding careers in own brands and the opportunity to meet new talent in retail and CPG.
Topco hosted an array of activities celebrating the end of the year, allowing associates an opportunity to relax, reflect and receive much-deserved appreciation for all their hard work. Partner offices held various lunches and dinners for associates while the Elk Grove Village office combined its holiday party with a service anniversary ceremony and a celebration of Topco’s 75th anniversary. #Topco is appreciative of all the effort our associates have put in to make 2019 another successful year.
Last week, Progressive Grocer unveiled its 2019 Category Awards, naming Topco one of its 2019 Category Advisors. This year’s awards were based on overall achievement in shopper-centric category management, retailer collaboration and sales impact, making it all the more exciting. Progressive Grocer highlighted our initiatives with the Tippy Toes brand, which has provided our members’ diaper sales with double-digit growth behind strategic planning and execution. The winners are all featured in the December issue of Progressive Grocer. We work hard to serve our members, so it’s reassuring to know that we’re providing them with award-winning products and efforts. #Topco
On November 17, Topco Director of Human Resources Anitra Farmer was officially honored as the Store Brands Magazine’s Top Woman in Store Brands Functional Expertise, Corporate Services Award winner. Established by Women Impacting Storebrand Excellence (WISE), the award recognizes the efforts made by women in the store brands industry throughout North America. She received the acclaim at the WISE Annual Meeting and Luncheon during the PLMA Private Label Trade Show.
