Without having to be directed, he comes in, gets everything rolling, and stays on top of the workload throughout the night. His leadership has made the team’s job easier on the night shift. Jaira started in kitting and was recently promoted to Forklift Operator in our Jalisco, Mexico facility. She has been with Veritiv for a year and a half, and during this short time has proven to be a top performer. In honor of Warehouse Worker Appreciation Week, we acknowledge Wendell Dixon who has been with Veritiv for more than 30 years in our Burlington, NJ facility. Wendell’s supervisor, Serous Hasani, said, “I was out of town and I called Wendell on a Saturday night to seek his help to load a pallet of stretch film for an emergency order that had to get delivered on Sunday morning. Without hesitation, Wendell went to the division and safely located the product, loaded it on the truck, updated the shipping paperwork, and secured the building. Wendell’s dedication and pride to his job helped Veritiv provide exceptional service to one of our accounts. I am humbled to have Wendell on my operations team.” Thank you, Wendell! Your dedication to our customers has enabled Veritiv to remain successful, even in these trying times.
This Warehouse Worker Appreciation Week has deeper meaning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Our warehouse employees have been a vital part of our Customer Focus value keeping us operational. This week, we will recognize some of our exceptional warehouse workers who make Veritiv a great place to work. Up first, we would like to recognize Shipping and Receiving Clerk Gustavo Lima in our Miami, FL facility. Gustavo’s positive and can-do attitude has been a shining light for the AAC/Veritiv Miami team. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when his team was in need of extra personnel, he stepped up to help by taking on additional shifts.
