Congratulations to our August Values Sharer, data compliance analyst, Eugene Larkin. As part of our South Asian Heritage Month celebrations, we produced a cookbook featuring some of our colleagues' favourite dishes – including onion bhaji, Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, Sri Lankan fish cutlets, chilli mongo and Gujarati dal. Colleagues then came together in both our London and Cardiff offices to taste these delicious recipes, share personal stories and listen to a variety of South Asian music. We were also delighted to have David Ramcharran host a virtual yoga class for our colleagues, shining a light on the South Asian practice of yoga – involving breathwork, light meditation and adaptation of bodily postures and poses. Which? believes clear unit pricing is key to helping shoppers through the current cost of living crisis and is calling on supermarkets to urgently do more by making unit pricing more prominent, legible and consistent – as well as by displaying it on their promotional offers. Our latest investigation found unit pricing in supermarkets – which enables you to compare value by the cost per unit (for example per 100g or 100ml) – is often unclear, inconsistent or absent. #CostofLiving #budgeting
Today, Ofgem announced that the energy price cap will rise an average of 80%, taking typical household bills from £1,971 per year to £3,549 per year on 1 October. We are calling on the government and Ofgem to undertake an immediate review of retail energy pricing. Rocio Concha, our Director of Policy and Advocacy, says, ‘These eye-watering increases will simply be unaffordable for households up and down the country. The government must now increase the Energy Bills Support Scheme by at least 150 per cent or risk pushing millions of households into financial distress this winter.’ #EnergyBills #EnergyCrisis #EnergyPriceCap https://lnkd.in/gVfgbkzz

Congratulations to our July Values Sharer, learning and development manager, Sonja Walde. She received an incredible nine nominations from colleagues. After delivering an excellent course in Cardiff on high-resilience work practices , Sonja was nominated by her colleagues for ‘putting a smile on everyone’s face!’ She lived the values of ‘We Care’, ‘We’re Connected’ and ‘We Make It Happen’, and her colleagues walked away from the workshop feeling ‘comforted and more supported’. By focusing on resilience, Sonja ‘made it possible for everyone to feel comfortable enough to open up and share their own stories’, and created an enjoyable atmosphere for all involved. #ValuesSharer #LearningAndDevelopment
