Congratulations to Matt David, member services adviser, who was voted Sustainability Champion in our Values Sharer of the Year Awards 2022. Matt has gone above and beyond with the ‘return to sender’ magazine process. He has continued to push for its importance and has avoided piles of magazines stacking up throughout Member Services. By taking the time to record all of the magazines returned consistently, Matt has collected invaluable data and helped to make the case for adjustments. He said: ‘I feel honoured to be the Sustainability Champion and now part of the Sustainability group here at Which?. It's been incredible to find out more about what we currently do, and still can do, to make sustainable changes to our lives. I will be eager to continue to champion this value that I've grown incredibly fond of during the past two years.’ Matt pictured with Phil Amy, commercial director and Helen Moore, group people director.
Congratulations to Chloe Benfield, member services online advisor, voted Cardiff Diversity & Inclusion Champion in our Values Sharer of the year Awards 2022. Chloe was recognised for being brave and using their voice to share their experience of being non-binary, a benefit to all colleagues. They have written several pieces as well as an article on the subject of pronouns and took part in a panel to discuss gender role assumptions and stereotypes. Chloe has been described as someone who 'never fails to bring a smile to colleagues’ faces.' She said: ‘I am so thrilled to have been voted Which? Diversity & Inclusion Champion in the 2022 Values Sharer Awards. As a queer person who brings their full self to work every day and tries very hard to enlighten and educate in a friendly and effective way, this award means a great deal to me.’ Chloe pictured with Phil Amy, commercial director and Helen Moore, group people director.
Congratulations to Hannah Ballantyne, senior social media manager, who was voted London Diversity & Inclusion Champion in our Values Sharer of the Year Awards 2022. Hannah’s work with the D&I forum has been incredibly important to colleagues in forming their understanding of how they compare to others with regards to privilege and experience. As a representative on the forum, she is always proactive and approachable about inclusion, seeking to take all voices into account. Her work and professionalism is a constant benefit to all. She said: ‘I was sad that Covid meant I couldn't attend the event, but I'm very proud and grateful to have won this award and to work for an organisation which doesn’t just prioritise diversity and inclusion for employees but is also working to make improvements for those consumers who are more exposed to consumer harm than others, via initiatives like the Which? Fund. https://lnkd.in/eXkA7ePt.'

Huge congratulations to Linda Williams, resourcing business partner, voted Values Sharer of the Year 2022 at our annual awards. Linda was recognised for the value of ‘making it happen’. She received eight nominations, and colleagues talked about how Linda has taken care of their recruitment needs in a timely and efficient manner, always showing her support of her team. 'She has great enthusiasm for her role and has taken numerous recruitment challenges in her stride.' She has been described as a 'firecracker – someone who has a real passion and enthusiasm for what they do, providing consultancy and advice while making work fun.' She said: ‘For me, it's the fact that I've only been with the company for 10 months. Also recruitment isn't an area where one is acknowledged for doing good work, so to be honoured in this way has blown me away. I'm really humbled and honoured to have been chosen.’

The last year has seen a huge amount of change and playing a small part in helping others thrive is a real blessing.’ Pictured with Phil Amy, commercial director and Helen Moore, group people director.
Congratulations to the Which? Money team, who took home the trophy for Consumer Title of the Year at the Headlinemoney Awards – the Oscars of financial journalism. The judges described Which? Money as a 'passionate campaigner for readers, driving positive change for consumers' and praised the team for publishing 'in-depth coverage of the issues that matter to readers, providing practical advice in an attractive and easily digestible format.' There were individual accolades too: congratulations to Chiara Cavaglieri, who was named Savings Journalist of the Year, and Danielle R., who was highly commended in the ESG Story of the Year category. Jenny Ross, editor of Which? Money, said: 'I already know what a brilliant job the team does on behalf of our readers and consumers in general, but it's fantastic to see this recognised by others too – and against such tough competition. A lot of people have played a part in this success, from our journalists and researchers to colleagues from design, production and the Which? Money Helpline. Well done all!'
The current crisis won’t be solved by government intervention alone. Businesses have an important part to play. Firms face a triple threat of new trading arrangements, a global pandemic and a cost-of-living crisis, but unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures.' Rocio Concha Galguera, director of advocacy and policy, writing today in City AM. #CostOfLiving
Introducing Helen Fairfax-Wall, head of digital and fraud policy on the Digital Scams team at Which?. Prior to joining us, Helen spent 15 years in the civil service working in and around digital transformation, digital identity, cyber and legacy across several Whitehall departments and Number 10. This wealth of experience means Helen has brought a deep understanding of how government digital policy works across departmental, industry and supplier silos. Helen says: ‘Moving across from the public sector I'm delighted with how Which? is small enough to be agile, but big enough to pack a mighty punch when it comes to holding business and government accountable. In just these first few months the team have had significant wins getting fraudulent online advertising included in the Online Safety Bill, and we're working hard to identify and make sure the government is aware of loopholes outside of the bill that scammers can exploit.
