As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we spoke with Which? Council trustee Dorothy Burwell, who is responsible for supporting the governance of the Consumers' Association, ensuring we meet our charitable objectives and focus on consumers’ interests, as well as our regulatory obligations.
We've started celebrating Christmas a bit early at Which? 🎄Each year, we get to test a wide range of Christmas foods and drink to make sure people know where to buy the best – it's a pretty great job. Of course, this year we've had to do things a bit differently.
We’re delighted to announce that our first Values Sharer of the Year is Conor Bannister.
We Care and We are Connected are two of our five values at Which?. And once again it was evident to the recognition panel from all the Values Sharer nominations received over the past 12 months that there are individuals who live our values and make an outstanding effort to help and support each other. This year the shortlist for our Colleague Champion Award, presented in memory of a colleague in our Legal Services team, consisted of five individuals: Jamie Coker, Matthew David, Natalie Powell, Jessica Staff and Nyla Thomas. We would like to say a huge congratulations to Natalie Powell for being crowned our Colleague Champion.
Our Which? employees are passionate about delivering positive impact for consumers. It was clear to the recognition panel from all the Values Sharer nominations received over the past 12 months that there are many unsung heroes in the business that are making this impact and being nominated for doing so on a consistent basis. This year our shortlist consisted of four individuals: Munro Page, Laura McCrystal, Harry Tattersall Smith and George Martin. We’re pleased to announce that our Consumer Champion this year is Munro Page. Congratulations Munro!
Congratulations to our Travel editorial team, our second quarterly team recognition award winners!
Since introducing our quarterly team recognition award in January, we’ve received more than 70 nominations that highlight some truly outstanding and connected team efforts. This quarter, we had some particularly tough decisions to make and after much deliberation by the recognition panel, we awarded two teams. First up, Congratulations to our Gardening team!
Since launching our values recognition scheme in October 2019, where colleagues nominate those who are bringing our Which? values to life, we’ve received an amazing total of 550 nominations! A year later, we have 12 monthly winners who have made a range of contributions from implementing wellbeing programmes, to getting us all working from home in a matter of days at the start of COVID-19. Today, we’re announcing our teams of the quarter and announcing our Values Sharer of the Year, who’ll receive a £1,000 contribution towards a learning opportunity of their choice and in addition, the recipients of our two new awards – our ‘Colleague champion’ and ‘Consumer champion’ – to recognise those who have consistently gone the extra mile to help their colleagues and our members.
