Two major events were held in London across April and May, welcoming hundreds of thousands of spectators and participants in the heart of the capital. The London Marathon’s 26-mile journey from Greenwich to Westminster and the King’s Coronation route from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey both passed through some of the busiest parts of the city. Both were huge logistical efforts for the city’s municipal and transport authorities. Telent was chosen by Transport for London – having worked together for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral – to help ensure the movement of military and emergency services personnel by removing traffic signals along the routes for both events. Support Engineer Andreas Ansell from Telent’s engineering team shares his experience of building a technical career with Telent. “I joined Telent in 2016 as a Network Services Apprentice, where I rotated around multiple projects and experienced the range of workstreams that Network Services had to offer. Having progressed through my apprenticeship into the Engineering Support team, I’ve had the privilege of working on ground-breaking technologies and critical infrastructure all across the country, from 5G Private Network proof of concepts to the deployment of campus wide networks for Russell Group universities. Since joining Telent, I’m proud to have been nominated for the “In The Field Award" at the Telent Awards, as well as planning and supporting the hosting of a number of apprentices from Telent Germany for a two week visit. Everyday provides the opportunity to learn new skills and demonstrate ones I have gained across my six year journey, ensuring work for our customers is always delivered to the highest standard.” Learn about Telent's apprenticeship opportunities here:
