The lockheed martin health insurance was normal. I believe that in 2018 they decreased the plans to be less effective.

High deductible health plans match the rest of the industry. Great for younger, healthier workers. Not great for those with pre-existing conditions or anyone who actually needs to use the healthcare. I recommend utilizing the HSA and save in advance. They allow selection from deductibles as low as $1600 to as high as $6500 with varying appropriate weekly premiums. Prescriptions also have a deductible, meaning you pay cash until you hit the number you choose. 2018 Providers are currently Cigna for health (was Aetna) and Cigna for dental (was Delta Dental), VSP for vision (was Eyemed), and CVS Caremark for prescriptions (was nothing/Aetna).

Comprehensive! Really great to hear doctors and dentists again and and again say what a really wonder plan it was, and how it was surprising how low the deductible was, how low the copay was, and how thorough the coverage was.

Signing up for health insurance was not madatory at the time. I did not need it until I was pregnant. All maternity care was covered. All dependant care was covered.

Extremely high deductible health plans. Self-Pay in many cases is much cheaper than our benefit with Lockheed Martin.

Benefits are not under other industry standard programs in some areas, and equivalent in other areas. Previously, LM set the bar, now they are at or below average.

The worst thing about the healthcare plan is the high deduction rates

Lockheed Martin only offers high deductible health plans which are not competitive with the industry. They provide no contribution to the HSA which also puts a lot of pressure on employees personal finances until they meet their very high deductible. This makes you feel like you have no insurance when you have to pay thousands of dollars for your doctors visits. Leadership put the profitability of the Company before the welfare of their employees. If you work here, make sure you demand a 10-15k base salary increase to cover your high out of pocket medical costs.
