What is the hiring process like at Arc'teryx?

      Pros

The company offers exceptional discounts on their gear, a generally flexible work schedule, and some paid activity days for employees

      Cons

At my location specifically, raises were dangled out in front of me for a while when they were promised to be biannual (I recieved one raise in the first year that I worked there). I also feel continually de-valued as the base hiring pay continues to raise and my pay continues to not even be that (I currently make over a dollar/hour less than the hiring rate for someone of my same title) despite being part of the original hiring team. The manager also continues to schedule me over my pre-determined unavailability and my schedule is generally all over the place from week to week.

      Pros

Co-workers are mostly great energy, a pretty upbeat work environment. Work events/activations kept customers engaged and changed up the energy of the space. Really believe in the ethos of the brand, so I was proud to represent the product.

      Cons

Unrealistic job description - it was labelled as part time but I worked full time hours 5 days a week - when I inquired about this to my manager, he said it's just because I was in the training process - but my full scheduling continued for all of my contractual period minus the last 2-3 weeks. Manager sometimes did not communicate or train staff well. For example, I made a mistake that I realized after a couple weeks of working there. Instead of the manager bringing it up as a learning opportunity for new hires, they complained about it to permanent staff, which is how I ended up finding out what I did was wrong. Because I was working full time it was hard to learn product knowledge in my personal time, so I often felt uneducated and therefore incapable of providing premium customer service at work.

      Pros

Employee discount is 60-70% this is above industry standard. Decent Pay. Networking opportunities with brand ambassadors and mangers from other locations.

      Cons

Dysfunctional. Inconsistent priorities from management. My particular location was very operations focused and rarely offered premium guest experience. SM was incredibly passive aggressive and not passionate about developing new leaders or managers. Consistent lack of communication between SM and team. Consistent lack of communications and prioritization go guest over tasks from ASM. The companies main focus is the quality of their product + Expanding. Everything else typically falls to the wayside.
