Pros
The company has a well-structured onboarding process that could be beneficial if you receive the promised support and training
Cons
I joined AutoNation with high hopes, leaving a well-paying job because I believed I was moving to a place with better growth opportunities and support. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. From the beginning, favoritism has been a major issue; better jobs are consistently given to other mechanics while I’m left with less desirable work, which makes it hard to earn a decent income despite putting in the same effort.
One of the most frustrating parts of my experience was when I asked a coworker for help on a task. Rather than assisting me, they went to management, and I was later told not to ask for help again. I was promised training to improve my skills when I joined, but despite asking, I never received that training. Meanwhile, other employees were given the support I had been assured I would receive. This lack of guidance and support made it feel like I was being set up to fail.
Overall, my time here has been disappointing. What was supposed to be a better opportunity has left me feeling disheartened and undervalued, as the promised support and growth simply never materialized.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy, unless you are friends/family with management than you should be golden!
