What is the hiring process like at CBRE?

      CBRE reviews

      Feedback

      Junior accountant
      Current employee
      Cairo, Cairo Governorate
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

the process of the hiring was very smooth and simple

      Cons

nothing actually was bad about it

      Onboarding

      Facilities coordinator
      Current employee
      Jersey City, NJ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

They are very involved during the hiring process. Receptive to both answers you give and questions you ask.

      Cons

The onboarding process is atrocious and the fact they would relocate because someone new under you does not like you speaks volumes. This happened to my Director at the time and the Manager that complaint was not good at her job or communication. The type to push the work on others and leave early if no one is looking. At the same time, work and their attention are needed.

      1

      Avoid at all costs

      Facilities assistant
      Current employee
      Dublin, Dublin
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Others on the team - struggling to find other pros

      Cons

This may only be true for the accounts based in Ireland - so if you're considering joining CBRE on any Dublin accounts, I could not recommend more strongly that you avoid. My job is 10% what I applied for and the other 90% is getting given other peoples tasks daily, regardless of if I feel qualified or happy to do them. The internal hiring process is rigged and when I tried to move to another vendor company - I was blocked by management. This place is full of unhappy workers and the biggest mistake I have made in recent years is moving to this job.

average, small fish in a big pond

      Afm
      Current employee
      Boston, MA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Large company, you supposedly can hop from account to account while still working for CBRE. Pay is decent, benefits are average, nothing special. I worked with mostly good people. Management turnover was high.

      Cons

Very large company, you are treated more like a number than part of something bigger than that. Recruitment is not great, delays, poor communication, hiring process is long and inefficient.

      1

Toxic management, suppressing talent, and overworking staff

      Lease administrator
      Former employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Hybrid model and good team.

      Cons

Management was toxic, poor at people management. They will tell you that you aren't good enough for other roles i.e., promotions, so they can keep you at your job. They won't reward talent but will promote new people that have just been there for less than a month to managers while others within the company that have been there for >3 years are not considered even though they are high performers. Management had their own agenda and should never be people managers.

      Great experience

      Program manager
      Former employee
      Austin, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Safety, trust and collaboration culture

      Cons

I don't think the performance review process was effective

      Great Employer

      Transaction manager
      Former employee
      Flowood, MS
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Best place to work for salary, work/life balance and opportunity for advancement

      Cons

Hiring process can be slow but worth it

Company with strong value to their employees

      Regional fm manager
      Current employee
      Singapore
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Their company objective and culture are clearly define and implemented. You will feel the belonging even though you are new hire. Sense of helping each other and community bond are strong. You will see diversity and strong belonging. People blend from any level.

      Cons

Difficult to bargain when being moved to different project that is bigger than before.

STAY AWAY, NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

      Qa laboratory assistant
      Former employee
      Ringaskiddy
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

nothing, maybe the only pros is the health insurance.

      Cons

fake culture and work environment. They don't even know what equity and inclusion mean. Typical company that states "we are a family here" and they expect you have to do someone's job. Once you are in you are completely abandoned, no one helps you, no one gives you feedback. Managers are extremely unprofessional and make gossip about team members. They don't have a clue what your job is about and they judge you. You cannot trust about this company. Retaliation and discrimination are part of their core values. During the interview process they try to persuade candidates promising it is an inclusive place, you will receive support and they will help you to progress but once you are in you realize the situation is completely the opposite.
