Dell is a great company to work for. The pay + benefits package was very competitive, the work culture was pretty good and the company seemed to care about it employees and their work/life balance.

The bureaucracy of a big company meant that many stakeholders had to give their stamp of approval on every decision which led to inefficient and slow decision making. Dell is trying to change this, but currently most employees still waste several hours a week in meetings that aren't helpful. Also, within the engineering organization, the average age is likely in the upper 40's to low 50's. As a young professional this can make it difficult to fit in with your coworkers.

There are a lot of great people, the overall benefits package is good especially the health benefits and the overall product set is solid even though investment is lagging.

There's been a significant decrease in R&D spend the past several years so it's difficulty selling as the technology has been lagging. There's constant re-orgs, once sometimes twice a year. One of my co-works is on his 10th manager in 8 years and this is more common than not. There's constant layoffs, most of the people I know feel like they're on 6 months contracts. It's still run like a PC/mfg company and until the old guard, like the COO, are gone it's tough to see the culture changing.

Very good experience, with a lot of benefits and interns are able to join team buildings etc. Free coffee, drinks and friendly culture. Definitely the best company I ever see.

Unfortunately, despite its otherwise impressive benefits and work environment, Dell recently shifted towards a more traditional office-based work setup. Many employees who were previously able to work remotely or maintain a flexible schedule have been forced to return to the office, leading to a significant impact on their work-life balance and overall well-being. This sudden change has caused stress, anxiety, and even burnout among some of my fellow employees, who may have had to adapt to a new commute and reduced flexibility. Additionally, the lack of trust and autonomy that comes with being forced back to the office has led to feelings of micromanaging and a loss of autonomy, which I feel has had an impact on job satisfaction and productivity.
