What are perks and other benefits like at GoDaddy?

      Pros

Where you sit in the organization matters, employees are impacted most directly by their direct management. I have an incredible people leader. The benefits include flexibility, an inclusive work environment, a culture, competitive compensation, and working with talented colleagues. You can tell that the company wants to do what's right for its employees but struggles with mixed messages.

      Cons

The company seems to be struggling with its post-covid company culture and very global, remote, dispersed workforce. With that said, they are actively listening to employees and making efforts to make improvements.

      Pros

GoDaddy is known in the area for having some of the best benefits and perks. Which is one of the reasons I applied. (1a) The benefits are good. Reasonable healthcare plans, mental health assistance and wellness days off each quarter along with decent vacation time and sick time. There is substantial opportunity to learn new skills and move up in the company. It is worth it to stick around and gain those skills as they can translate to bigger better opportunities either internally or externally. The ability to work from home for most of the positions could be a pro or a con for some. I find it to be a pro. Productivity has been shown to go up when users are in a less distracting environment such as the office. In office we had constant interruptions. The pandemic forced us to work from home and we never looked back. (I do miss the facilities a tad) Honestly, the inclusivity and teamwork that is experienced at GoDaddy is like nothing else Ive ever experienced. We have so many employee groups to celebrate our uniqueness that helps make the company great such as our united group to celebrate LGBTQ employees and our Blacks in Technology group. Its one of the most open and honest companies Ive ever worked for in terms of that. We are truly free to be ourselves. When you can be your authentic self you can also be a better employee. The company will listen to employees when it comes to benefits and culture and has historically made strides to improve those things. They have also worked to increase compensation when it was revealed (in the past) we were being paid less then the industry standard. So its nice to know the company wants to improve that.

      Cons

Benefits have been reduced drastically (1a) since we went public a few years ago. Of course, as is the case with any company that has shareholders to appease. While our benefits used to be highly competitive, they are now run of the mill. Outsourcing is a big issue as well, again, this isn't that different from other similar companies. But the looming possibility that your role could be next isn't necessarily good on ones mental state. The contract employees also dont have the same stake in the companies success so they dont always put in the same effort as those of us who do which can lead to resentment, more work for others, and a hostile work environment. And it also leads to upset customers. But again, I think this is common in most tech companies these days. Its just kind of new to us tenured employees since the big brag about GoDaddy was that we used to be 100% US based. Ultimately, the one constant is that things change and sometimes its for the worse, sometimes its for the better.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits, good management, most positions are work-from-home

      Cons

Pay is sub-par considering the rest of the industry, pay increases are rather small, company does not seem to pay based on experience, little to no flexibility on scheduling for emergency needs like kids. If you have to deal with a family emergency that is not covered under FMLA and you don't have sick time to cover, you will go on a final write-up that lasts 1 year.

      Pros

It's fully remote work, the pay is decent, the benefits are good, unlimited PTO

      Cons

Internal systems are garbage, care and sales tools constantly crash, revolving door for entry level employees, upper management disconnected with folks below them, can't get things done effectively or efficiently, every things a fire drill

      Pros

My experience with GoDaddy had both good and challenging moments during my short stay. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of some positive aspects: • Great Colleagues: My team and manager were outstanding. They were incredibly supportive and professional. • Decent Benefits: The perks, like working from home and extra holidays made up for the small salary

      Cons

However, the entire department I worked in was considered redundant in less than a year after hiring me. This was very disruptive to my life because I left a job that paid 30% more than GoDaddy. I was swayed by benefits like work from home and additional holidays. At the time I perceived there would be stability. Although these benefits were very good and I didn’t regret the low salary while working, the fact that having those benefits was short-lived and now I’m left with the uncertainty of finding a new workplace is, as it sounds, an unfortunate turn of situation.

Flexible shifts available. Shift changes are rare unless you ask for them. Plenty of Vacation time and great benefits including health, vision, stock options, etc... The supervisors are great to work for.

None that I can think of.

      Pros

Little to no micromanagement, the perks and benefits were solid (they paid for the last credits I needed for my degree), unlimited PTO, pre-COVID the travel opportunities and office food were fantastic, the Employee Resource Groups are active and supportive, met some genuinely cool people.

      Cons

I was given a substantial raise on April 1st, only because I was below the pay band for 6 months. Then, they laid me off two days later. Jokes on me, I guess. Every 9box review was a battle to get fair compensation or promotion. Less than 5 minutes after letting go of +180 people, they sent out an email saying they're also removing things like Slack and Zoom to save money, but the stock prices have never been higher? Suspicious. Employee appreciation? Gone. The holiday bonus email that turned out to be a phishing test? Disgusting and demoralizing. The culture has radically changed in just five years, and not for the better. They’re going way too hard into the AI trend, repackaging existing features as AI. It’s going to blow up in their face when they can’t keep up with real trends. Obsessed with buying smaller companies like Over (AKA GoDaddy Studio) only to run them into the ground because they had no clue what to do with it.

      Cons

A hot mess, very unorganized, and unprofessional. The pay was so low, you better off doing Uber Eats.No one can live on what their paying, and when I started with my new company, I canceled their Go Daddy service, because they trusted my judgment. Before the IPO, sure. But now, pass. You can build you own complete website with ChatGpt.
