What is the hiring process like at Grab?

      Pros

Culture depends on the team. Fortunately my team has a good leader and the culture and work load are good. Pay is decent. The leadership encourages learning and overall is good

      Cons

Right now the economy is not good. With prudent hiring process, some colleagues are getting burned out. For compensation, definitely lower than the top US/CN companies but good enough for SEA companies

      Bad management, culture changed

      Pros

Pay is ok Still have WFH policy (but seems not happy from management)

      Cons

Management not care about growth. New hiring will easily get higher rank Turn to Chinese Company culture like no planning with so-called fast iteration (basically not clear what to achieve then just try out and fingure cross it can work).

      Toxic culture toxic people

      Pros

I guess compared to the rest of the other tech companies in Singapore, it's ok

      Cons

Where do I start, management doesn't care about product or design and just assumes AI will fix everything. Take a hint, it won't. You can hire all you want outside of Singapore to lower the cost on getting talent in but if you want to keep innovating you need to have a culture that cultivates it. Putting people on PIP, hiring then firing people because you can't develop talent or communicate to talent is a bad sign of leadership. On top of that management has thin skin and can't take feedback because the moment their criticized during cycle reviews they put that back on their reports. The design org is a mess as well, the fact your leadership counts screens to measure impact for design talent is ridiculous. Another manager once hired someone from outside of Singapore and told them they didn't hire them to be bad at Grab. Wow, way to cater to foreign talent you can't grow or keep. Do better Grab. Grab was better before Pre-IPO but the fact they can't even retain people because of their passive aggressive culture means they won't be able to keep people unless they just suck up to the cult. Goodluck here cause you're going to need it.

Not ideal place for FTTs / contracts

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Used to have a 2D WFH - Good office facilities - A lot of events and free snacks - Friendly people - Good opportunity to growth (for non Ops)

      Cons

      - Toxic competition, with people focusing more on politics than actual work - Fewer people, yet expectations keep getting higher, along with micromanagement - FTTs are treated poorly: barely appreciated, not even invited to meetings or office events, and salaries keep decreasing with each new hiring batch - Paid overtime almost a myth, it's need multiple layer of approval (they won't) and took months!!, plus people keep contacting you to work during weekend and even on leave - Got moral damage from how the stakeholders treat the partners (drivers)

      Great experience overall

      Pros

Clear onboarding guidelines and resources given, autonomy given by intern manager

      Cons

More involvement in company events would be great

      Good environment

      Pros

Good Environment A lot of learning opportunities

      Cons

      Not really hiring perm staff

      Too political

      Pros

Great benefits. Renowned brand. That's it.

      Cons

Too political now. Hiring stupid HR people. Lowballing people internally but external hire has bigger salary.
