Pros
Great benefits , good schedule, and good amount of support
Cons
Management is not the best
Pros
Most of my teammates are amazing people, some of the managers really care about their ICs, and it's not super hard work to fill the day.
Cons
Definitely feel underpaid. Some managers and most of upper management feel like they don't care about their workers. Not much opportunity for upward mobility, and most of the benefits we were hired with have been sunsetted without much discussion.
Pros
Benefits, some flexibility, company culture,
Cons
Company seems to care more about metrics than the quality of work their employees give, low compensation and hard to move up at times
Pros
They HAD great benefits then they removed the flexible PTO, made people come into the office and removed the WFH stipend
Cons
Managers barely manage, supervisor wants to be manager when she’s not equipped for it. You’ll be harassed and targeted if you don’t do what she wants (not what the rules/policies state), the anonymous reporting is 100% NOT anonymous. PEPEs will pick sides without getting the full scope of the issue. Metrics only count against you if they don’t like you. You can say you have a lot going on in your personal life and they’ll let you not work while being clocked in and stealing company time 🙂. I can go on and on.
Pros
Able to work from home, which this company doesn't allow anymore except maybe under specific circumstances, I'm not sure. I was grandfathered in from COVID and I don't live near any office. Benefits are good and the company pays for those benefits. The company also gives you a stipend you can use to buy things from a company-managed online store like Uber eats, exercise equipment, etc.
Cons
It's a call center environment. Most people I talk to are lovely, but I often talk to angry people and sometimes mean people. The metrics are impossible. You have to get through a certain number of calls per hour, but if you rush a client off the phone, they might give you a bad survey score which hurts another metric. Every quarter, they make you submit a review about how you think you're doing. It always feels like you're trying to make the case for why they should keep you onboard. Help on unusual calls is limited to AI chat bots who may end up replacing you at some point. Managers can provide help, but they're stretched thin. Many teams are understaffed and this causes client issues to go unsolved for awhile (which isn't great for client survey scores on your performance). As with competitors like ADP, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years are the absolute busiest time, so you can't call out (unless sick), so for however long you work there, the holidays will never quite feel the same (more stress/can't enjoy the season as much). By far, Gusto's year end time is so much more manageable than year end was at ADP.
Pros
Good benefits and good learning opportunities
Cons
Operation changes are always changing
Pros
Most of my colleagues are wonderful, and the benefits are good. Nothing else!
Cons
Leadership in the Denver office is biased, with a culture that promotes bullying and cliques. Managers often lack the necessary experience to lead teams effectively. If the higher-ups don't approve of you, you are unlikely to succeed. Even if you work hard and do your best, your efforts may go unrecognized. The situation is so bad that you might even feel like you've sold your soul to Gusto, but it still won't make a difference. Stay far away from this garbage!!
Pros
Great place to learn and grow. Amazing benefits and perks
Cons
Would more competitive pay with the change in the economic
Pros
Working remotely, no phones, thats about it
Cons
Too many changes in such a short period of time including processes for work and benefits for employees
Pros
Remote work. Bonuses for your work anniversaries. Great perks and benefits. Free health benefits for employees. Stipends for your home office as well as a quarterly stipend for your health and wellness. They also offer pretty good support for mental support. You start off between phone and email time. You have the chance to move to the chat team.
Cons
Micromanage ish. There's a slack channel that calls you out whenever you're not on phones when you're supposed to be. This causes discomfort for some being that people are getting called out for going to the bathroom or taking a quick mental break. The information is a lot and the training doesn't compliment what the actual job is like so a lot of it is learning as you go. Which is daunting considering that we're required to assist with peoples payroll and tax related issues. Although the benefits and perks are great, the pay doesn't match the job load so it can be very tiring for some. Customers will blame you for their own payroll mistakes so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who takes things personal. You can't take PTO during blackout days which start in around the holidays so you can't take a break during that time unless you use sick or unpaid time
