What are perks and other benefits like at Indeed?

Great for awhile, seems to be on the decline.

      Pros

Decent pay, killer benefits, lots of flexibility, unlimited amount of cool hiring problems to solve.

      Cons

Company just seemed to not be able to focus on fixing the core experience for customers, ran many experiments on things customers weren't interested in. Product teams remain siloed despite many attempts to fix that.

      Pros

Great people, great product, empowered teams, very good pay and benefits, free meals and snacks if you work in the office.

      Cons

While I was working at Indeed the separate business unit silos were problematic - they had different review/reward criteria and no incentive to work together, creating a lot of duplicate work and inefficiencies. After multiple large layoffs, I have heard that Indeed has been re-organizing to address these problems. I enjoyed working at Indeed and overall recommend the company.

The company is cool, but some teams😟

      Pros

Indeed has great a SLT, open PTO and other great benefits, free food at offices, great inclusion programs and activities.

      Cons

Managers aren’t managed and can too easily get away with creating toxic team cultures. The entire HR org needs restructuring and training. All of middle leadership needs leadership training. It’s too easy for IC’s who brown nose and only think of themselves to get ahead while those who think of the team at large and future team members are targeted and perceived as disrupters. Siloes are created and some managers use that as a tactic to divide team members and support some more than others or not at all. Career growth is associated with who your manager is and whether they really want to support you or not. Some middle managers have too much control over employee advancement and directors look the other way or aren’t present at all. At first Indeed valued culture and diversity but that has also been tainted by individuals in middle management. My former team is now all white women, mostly of a certain age with similar backgrounds and lifestyles. Only one man remains and one person of color who’s a contractor.
