      Business Outlook

      Pros

Intuit is known for its inclusive and supportive work environment Strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration Opportunities to work remotely and flexible scheduling Good work-life balance, especially during non-peak seasons Competitive pay and generous bonuses Access to excellent training programs and resources Opportunities for career advancement and internal promotions Use of advanced software and tools to assist with tax preparation Continuous learning and development in tax-related technologies

      Cons

The job can be stressful during peak tax season High workload and tight deadlines during busy periods Some positions may be seasonal, affecting job stability and benefits Pressure to maintain high customer ratings

Working at Intuit is a great developing experience

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company offers a healthy work-life balance, including two days of remote work and flexible working hours. Fathers benefit from an impressive 16 weeks of parental leave for newborns. There are abundant career growth opportunities, supported by strong internal mobility and clear promotion paths. The technology stack is modern, and the team culture fosters a positive atmosphere where employees feel confident sharing ideas and stepping into leadership roles.

      Cons

Since the company primarily serves end users, there tends to be more focus on business outcomes than on technology. For tech professionals, this imbalance can sometimes be frustrating, as it may limit opportunities to innovate and push the technical boundaries. At the same time, it’s rewarding to see how the work directly benefits customers and drives the company’s success.

      Pros

Genuine flexibility, wonderful people, outstanding training courses that are interactive and really sticks, top notch compensation and benefits, promotion opportunities, and one of my faves is Career Growth! Need I say more?

      Cons

None that I can come up with, this is my second season with them!

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company promotes an inclusive culture where I can truly bring my whole self to work. My colleagues are genuine and hardworking, and I feel fortunate to be surrounded by supportive and caring individuals, which is incredibly important to me. Leaders in my organization lead by example and consistently seek ways to improve. My manager and director actively encourage feedback and have created a safe environment for everyone to voice their opinions. There has been significant progress made over the years in the promotion process and internal mobility, there are mission teams working on improving the employee experience in those aspects. Personally I received great feedback and support during my own promotion journey, which has greatly boosted my confidence in the career opportunities available at the company.

      Cons

Intuit offers excellent career coaching for managers and senior leaders; however, there seems to be less support for individual contributors and younger professionals. While there are mentorship and peer coaching programs available, they tend to be short-term and primarily focused on addressing immediate business challenges. It would be beneficial to have more career coaching that emphasizes personal development for all employees.

Good exposure but process heavy environment

      Sse- development
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good brand value, decent learning opportunities, collaborative teammates.

      Cons

Heavy processes and multiple approval layers slow down development. Frequent priority changes impact focus and delivery timelines. Meetings can take up a significant portion of the day. Growth and promotions may feel slower compared to fast-paced product companies.

      Truly Love Working Here!

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I have truly enjoyed working at Intuit. I have worked remotely in the TurboTax division for several years and it gets better every season. I started as a Tax Expert then became a Lead and now a Manager and the one constant has been the respect and support of everyone at the company. From my immediate manager to the Senior Vice President of our division, everyone is committed to providing the best experience for our customers. I love that I can trust everyone here to stand by Intuit's core values; some of my favorites are Integrity without Compromise, Customer Obsession, and Stronger Together. Schedules are flexible because Management truly values each employee and understands that we have lives and things don't always go as planned. There are incentives for keeping your commitment and showing up to do your best. It is a very fast-paced, dynamic work environment and one has to remain flexible, but it is so rewarding and fulfilling knowing that we have made it easier for our customers to fulfill their tax filing responsibilities. Intuit also offers opportunities to earn a tax credential and has their own academy that offers additional training in preparing tax returns. Finally, one of my favorite things about the company is their responsiveness to our feedback about changes needed to make our jobs easier. Every season, Management asks for our input about the tools used to do our job and makes some changes based on our responses. It shows that they care about us and our ability to focus on the customers instead of stressing about processes. Like I said, I truly love working here!

      Cons

The only downside is the length of the season. Everyone starts as a seasonal employee, working an average of 4 months per year, so if you need something full-time permanent, this wouldn't be a great position for you. But, if you do a great job, you are almost guaranteed to return each tax season and there are promotion opportunities when you gain more experience. I actually enjoyed being seasonal when I started because I was free to spend time with my children during their summer breaks so the Tax Expert position is great for stay-at-home parents, retirees, and college students.

Intuit is a great place to grow yourself and your career

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Strong culture of learning and development, leadership genuinely wants to see you succeed Clear pathways for growth and recognition, especially if you put in the work Great collaboration across teams, with smart and supportive colleagues Work-life balance is respected, but can be challenging due to a high-performing environment Benefits and employee programs are top-tier

      Cons

Growth requires patience — promotions and bigger opportunities don’t come overnight As with any large company, some processes can feel slow and bureaucratic The bar is high, which is motivating but can also be demanding at times

Temporary Work: Viable Option, Not Long-Term Career Path

      Seasonal tax expert
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The role offers a 401k benefit, season-end bonus, and flexible schedule. It provides an opportunity to earn extra income, which can be particularly useful for those looking to supplement their primary earnings. This position can serve as suitable supplementary work for retirees or as a transitional role for those between long-term jobs.

      Cons

The role offers a low base pay and primarily involves customer service duties rather than specialized tax expertise. The work environment is characterized by a scarcity of knowledgeable or helpful leads. Most leads lack expertise, and worse, some maintain an air of superiority. Career progression is restricted, as lead and management positions require separate applications and hiring processes. The company only offers full-time seasonal positions for these roles. You must search the internal job site for openings and apply individually. The workforce consists mainly of seasonal temporary employees, which limits opportunities for internal promotion. Much of the daily work revolves around customer service and software-related issues rather than advanced or practical tax knowledge. As employees gain experience with the company and their wages increase, they may be assigned more challenging customers, potentially leading to lower survey scores. This can negatively impact performance evaluations and reduce bonus potential. Consequently, experienced employees often find themselves handling difficult situations while their compensation suffers due to lower performance metrics. The 'flexible schedule' advertised is somewhat misleading. While you can choose from available time slots, your options are limited to what remains unfilled. This often results in having to accept less desirable shifts due to lack of alternatives. This position may be suitable for those seeking temporary employment or as a potential entry point into a customer service career. However, it's important to approach this job with realistic expectations regarding its temporary nature, limited growth prospects, and potential scheduling challenges. It's best viewed as a short-term or supplementary position rather than a long-term career investment. The company's treatment of employees reflects this temporary perspective.
