What are perks and other benefits like at Kaiser Permanente?

I work with some of the brightest and kindest people. We have excellent paid benefits and a pension plan, lots of vacation time and we work remote. We also get an extra 5% of base pay in a Vanguard account.

At times the workload can feel heavy. Our systems are around 5-10 years behind other companies because we have like 300,000 employees. Shifts in Management style every time new Executives are brought in with their vision.

The benefits were absolutely incredible including the larger than normal PTO bank as well as the ability to qualify for a pension after five years.

It was difficult to onboard new resources due to multiple levels of approval needed to hire a new resource.

Lacks teamwork mentality, very divisive/hierarchy, out of touch and unorganized management, reactive rather than proactive, inefficient systems in place but this also al highly depends on the specific department

Union benefits are nice, high wage compared to other organizations for the market and remote assignments available*

Leadership gatekeeps needed information to the point of absurdity Frequent upgrades to software by infomatics freezes up operations monthly. AN Unheard of amount changes to work flows AND essential duties. And employees are expected to be trained through smosis. Outdated job aids clutter server storage. Mandatory onsite PUSHed by all levels of management screams boomer and mid level leadership actively subverts any collective effort for better remote and hybrid job options. The clique behavior between sub departments managers are cringe and also a waste of resources but that is blamed on those who make 1/4 the salary to justify restructuring that effect new staff disportionanly ones that are right before employees full 1 year of FTE employment. But they try to convince us that its needed but when no one can build seniority or pension hours they effectively kill any leverage a union could have in negotiations.
