What is the hiring process like at Kelly?

      Interpreting for Kelly

      Remote telephone interpreter
      Former employee
      Laredo, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The hiring process was quick and easy. You can choose your own schedule (but have to keep their scheduling guidelines in mind), and can even pick up extra shifts if other people offer theirs. You get paid training for 3 weeks before you know if you officially get the job.

      Cons

You don't have a direct supervisor after 30 days of being officially hired. Any direct communication to a higher up is only done through email. The work can be overwhelming if you work through high-volume calls, aka you take calls non-stop. If you are schedule for an 8 hour shift, you only get 15 min paid break and 30 min unpaid break, and management chooses when you take these. You CANNOT end a call for the first 120 minutes, even if you take a call a minute before the end of your shift.

      Pros

They are doing some really good research work

      Cons

The hiring process is very stringent, as it does not give an oppurtunity to show our scientific prowess

      Pros

They provided an easy hiring process, competitive pay, and often serve as a vehicle to test out what it is like to work for the federal government before transitioning to becoming a full-time federal employee.

      Cons

I have no cons to mention.

Positive experience with supportive team and smooth onboarding

      Current employee

      Pros

My experience with Kelly has been very positive. It was my first job after I arrived in May 2025, and almost a year later, I’m still happy working here. The onboarding process was smooth thanks to Tammy and Tina, and I truly appreciate the support from Shelli and the entire Kelly team at the Ferrero plant. Additionally, my studies in Supply Chain Management align closely with my work, which has helped me perform efficiently and grow professionally.

      Cons

No Cons at all,Overall, I’ve had a consistently positive experience.

      Kelly = Lost Its Identity

      Leadership
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Field teams are hardworking and been through a lot. They have overcome many company transformations and economic obstacles in recruiting.

      Cons

Kelly continues to be challenged by understanding who they are and want to be in the staffing industry. The company has gone through many transformations since 2019 which has led to substantial client, revenue, profits and market footprints across the United States. The company was founded on and supported its internal talent and people. That no longer exists like it once did prior to 2019. The company continues to lose top staffing talent and leadership due to above and lack of trust to the field. The company has also expressed that work life balance and flexibility are important. But this is not true and the direction they are going.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The process was made smooth and easy while also staying very professional. I was pleased to speak with two members of the team to learn more and appreciated all of the communication.

      Cons

      I can't think of any.

Supportive management, but unrealistic metrics and pay cuts

      Senior recruiter
      Current employee
      Atlanta, GA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

*I love the industry that I recruit within. *I have a very supportive manager who is always on my side even if I mess up. *Lots of AI initiatives including recruiting pilot programs.

      Cons

*Recruiters held to unrealistic metrics while the sales teams meet theirs by bringing in impossible to fill roles. (pay rates below market rate/clients with horrible reputations) *Commission percentages were greatly decreased for 2026. I'm already down $15k in direct hire fees in Q1 as compared to what I would have earned in 2025 for the same fills. If I have the same GP numbers this year as last, I'm looking at a $60k loss. *Previously had incredible Top Earners/President's Club trips but that was taken away for 2025 Fiscal Year. They even made it impossible to obtain President's Club status by changing it from top earners in each category to having to hit an unrealistic amount of GP in this down market. *Process changes are often initiated before the details have been determined, leaving employees to scramble and waste time (time is money when working commission) trying to resolve issues.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The pros about this company and as being a substitute teacher is being able to help students reach their potential or assist a teacher with a student or student that need additional assistance to utilize their potential

      Cons

The cons of working for Mike Kelly services are unbelievable. Truth they will convince you that there are so many job openings available. You end up spending your money, wasting your time and putting in so much to come with less than $300 in a week. That's because they're having a favor and whom they're choosing to allow their apps to provide services to. So for instance, I've invested in this company since early August late July, early August of this year 2025 and I've only worked five jobs one or two jobs in a week. So where in the month of October I've applied since late July or August. What does that tell you? It took them forever ever long to decide on on completing the application process and then after you did everything you need to do they charged. They tell you to go get fingerprints done. Orientation only to wait an additional 2 weeks before you can even think to get work. Get on the app. Once you get the app then it's a job or two that might pop up one or two jobs. So there's no way possible that I was supposed to believe that in the county that I'm approved to work in all the schools that are here and they're constantly hiring substitute teachers. But you don't have enough work for someone to get a decent paycheck in one week. I'm not it. I believe in fine and lawyers real quick and how all feeling this year. I'm all about Sue. Happy for having me expecting that I will be getting work on a daily basis or I have the opportunity to become to get a full paycheck every week
