Because the company is private it believes it doesn't have to be transparent with their pay structure. So bad that leaders are unclear about the pay matrix for their team members. Which gives the impression that they have something to hide like inequitable pay practices.

Slightly below average pay scale for equivalent positions and work life balance can be difficult as the construction schedule dictates .
