Pros
It's a decent company, but things could be better
Cons
It seems hard to actually get a pay raise
Pros
- Flexible work schedule (4/10, Flex 40, etc) - 3.5% raise (more if you're a top employee) + bonus every year - Good health, vision, dental insurance - Great 401k match (LM will match 50% of the first 8% you contribute, totaling 12%) - Slow and steady career growth (if you're into that kind of thing) - Easy to transition to other teams if you want different work depending on the time of the year, there are many opportunities to learn new stuff - LM will pay some amount towards a Master's degree if you want one - Modern and clean offices/locations
Cons
- People transition off of teams like flies and there are usually no back fills (it makes sense if you understand that one of the only ways to get a significant pay increase in LM is to jump to another team/leave the company) - Promotions do not increase your current salary by 10%+ unless you're a top employee, it's a fixed number (MES base salary has been 96k for the past couple of years with no inflation adjustment) - Forget about negotiating your salary to HR unless your manager does it for you and backs you up at the same time

Pros
Job provides good pay and raises are fair compared to your work achievements. This could be different depending on manager.
Cons
Depending on the project you are a part of the job is unstable.
Pros
Benefits are great and annual raises and bonuses are good as well.
Cons
Asking for a pay raise comes with some quirky challenges.
Pros
A solid career path - this company will give back to you what you put into it. It's not a union shop, so things are a bit smoother and flexible than other places. It's give and take; if the supervisor gives you leniency to take care of a personal errand during work hours, remember that when they ask for volunteers for overtime, etc. The company offers a 401k, outstanding optical and dental, and competitive health coverage rates to the state of SC. Salary - of course we all think we could be paid more, but realistically employees are financially compensated pretty fairly in contrast to surrounding and competing businesses. Promotions and pay raises are routine and regular. I can honestly say that MOST personnel in the shop are paid fairly for their experience. Supervision routinely holds meetings to disseminate pertinent information, provides work feedback when requested, and assists in formulating your career path. Lockheed prides itself on forming professional employees through its training and employment advancement opportunities. You will thrive in the paint shop if you come to work with the right attitude, team mentality, and "Let's go" mindframe.
Cons
No workplace is without its flaws, and you have to be sure that what you disagree with is objective and not subjective. The 10-hour work shifts are not for the casual; this isn't a summer job so don't come here expecting that workload attitude. When we're busy, we're busy and we expect a team player mentality. If you can't/won't support the team, your work ethic will be obvious, and we'll make space for someone who will. Be willing to learn, volunteer, jump in and be a part of a project. You cannot be a "fly on the wall" here - you need to be flexible and willing to move around to different tasks to expand your repertoire.
Pros
Flexible, friendly, great atmosphere, great 401k match
Cons
Promotion’s and pay raises are limited by what HR values you which is based off of a chart and not actual work performance.
Pros
Great manager and co-workers, work-life balance, reasonable pay increases
Cons
Older technology, not what I picture from the name Lockheed Martin.
Pros
4 days a week schedule, solid PTO, and a week off given by the company during Christmas.
Cons
Company pushes innovation and groundbreaking work, but that is only for a select few working special projects. Generally, you are working on outdated systems and technology that is 5-10 years behind what is currently available. Training is nonexistent for outdated software systems and there is no goal to push for updated tech or software to compete. Pay was subpar, they intentionally try to undercut you when giving bonus or pay raises. Best option is to work here for a few years, leave to another company for a few years, and come back to get a competitive pay raise. Don't expect to connect with co-workers as most seem to just want to come in collect a check and leave.
