What is the hiring process like at Netflix?

If your manager doesn't like you, you're out. And they call it "Keepers test". Has nothing to do with performance or your abilities. Managers are never held accountable for making fair hiring decisions. So they rule with an iron fist.

Netflix Animation was a terrific studio to work at with great people and accommodating remote work and WFH policies.

Unfortunately many people were laid off during my time there with numerous projects being canceled out of the blue. Employee retention is poor following the boom and bust of the COVID hiring spree, and the company seems eager to pursue outsourcing and AI.

Remote-first working, shuttle to office as needed

Minimal onboarding, lack of XFN cohesion

Loved everything about the opportunity to be a part of Netflix. Its a truly special company, through headwinds and tailwinds, the company is rock solid full of innovators, stunning talent, and a really special culture that puts great ideas and exceptional humans first above process and bs.

Fast paced, need to really be senior and a self-starter to keep up.
