What is working from home like at Power Home Remodeling?

      Power Home Remodeling reviews

      Controlling leadership stifles staff

      Middle manager on marketing/brand team
      Former employee
      Chester, PA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There are some really creative staff members who are brilliant to work alongside.

      Cons

      1. You get Monday and Friday to work from home, but no other days, ever. Dr appointment on a Tuesday? Log that as sick time! Need to stay at your home to let workers in on a Wednesday? Take that as vacation time. It's obscene how they will not budge on working from home any other day but Monday and Friday. Get ready to be shamed and have HR brought in if you try to get any flexibility. 2. This is barely a real marketing department because the real marketing is door-to-door sales using really creepy tactics. Google it. 3. You're going to get sick often and have to come to work because of points made in #1. 4. Low morale, like the lowest you can imagine, an office so quiet because everyone is locked in rooms to cry. 5. "Leadership" comes in the form of putting you down, saying you're all lazy, and hiding in their offices while they take credit for all the hard work the team does. 6. People just disappear, you'll be working with someone and one day we just don't see or talk about a person again. 7. The work is basically propaganda to make the company sound great to employees when really it's like the same 10 employees that are doing great and everyone else is miserable.

      Pros

I get to work for the largest remodeling company! My company treats our employees very well, all away around. From the respect we are giving to how we are compensated. Power cares not only for their homeowners but their employees as well. There are many opportunities to grow and learn new skills. Many of which the company helps with at no cost to the employee. I am challenged to do better and improve everyday. The environment created in the office is the best I’ve personally seen in any of the companies I have been with. I’ve been in the construction industry for ten years now and Power has been the best I’ve worked with. It’s nice knowing when I go to a house hold, I am there to help, not just sell the homeowner. We offer some of the best products on the market for the lowest prices across the country. It feels good knowing we are not only helping solve problems at affordable prices, but standing behind our work for the future.

      Cons

The cons for my position specifically. Screening appointments is very good but could be improved. Power is currently working on improving stuff like this everyday even as I type. Being on-call 6 out of 7 days in the week is a little much, especially if you run 2 apt per day on avg. I think if y’all alternate Saturdays just like in the CD department. You will see better retention, more motivation in employees, and a much better balance of work and home life. It’s can be hard sometimes to balance work and home life in this position especially for married people with kids. It is definitely currently do-able, just can be difficult from time to time.

      Pros

I love working for Power! The culture is absolutely amazing. The people I work with are diverse, inclusive & just all around great humans. I get to help people solve problems every day so there is a lot of reward in this job. I’m compensated based on my performance which I love because I pride myself on my work ethic and want to be compensated accordingly. The upward mobility opportunities are endless as well. Lots of options to grow within the company. This company strives to make you better at your job, but also become a better person in your everyday life. You will grow mentally, physically, emotionally and be a better person in your home life because of it. Overall, great company, excellent values, rewarding mission and I love going to work every day.

      Cons

Requires a lot of discipline and hard work to get good at the job. You need to understand short term sacrifice for long term gain. However, if you’re willing to put the work in and make some sacrifices, the reward is well worth it.

      Pros

The benefits, the income, the relationships with coworkers, the growth, the management, the ability to always do better, the environment, the inclusivity, the hustle, the possibilities. I would recommend this job to everyone I know (and have) ! The best decision I’ve ever made in my life, was to start at Power. I’ve never been more financially stable and more motivated in my life. 12/10 recommend!! There’s no better place to work and I truly mean that.

      Cons

Only “con” is just getting use to being on call; also managing a good work life balance! Just making sure your staying on your scripts while also being present in home life! But it’s super reasonable and realistic! It’s not really a con, just something to get use too!
