What are perks and other benefits like at Sweetwater?

      Sweetwater reviews

Fun place to work/Culture has changed

      Sales engineer
      Former employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Lots of benefits, campus is wonderful and the amenities are plentiful, pay can be really good

      Cons

Schedule is almost impossible for a newer person with kids. Some rug pulling in how they pitch you expectations when you are hired vs what the actual job is. Culture has changed over the years, mostly due to the continued growth.

      Fantastic Kitchen to work in

      Kitchen staff
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The benefits are fantastic for kitchen workers, because the industry standard is pretty terrible. The work life balance is amazing, and overtime is discouraged. The vast majority of employees are amazing people, who treat the kitchen employees with respect and kindness. I love all the perks Sweetwater offers, ranging from the massive Holiday Party, all the way down to tastings to enjoy the newest product a food/beverage company offers.

      Cons

Some employees have a sense of entitlement and treat the kitchen staff like we are lesser people.

      Disney World for Musicians

      Current employee

      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Magical place, staff truly cares about music and serving customers. The building itself is like a small little community complete with: free Doctor for staff AND their families, free (nice) gym, discounted cafeteria, an area for concerts, disc golf course, the list goes on.

      Cons

The pay seems a little low for warehouse staff, the included benefits make up for it somewhat. But I’d increase the pay about $1.50-$2.00 per hour for the warehouse workers. Cannot speak on the pay for main building workers as I’m not in those departments and am very new to the company.

Great place to work and family friendly!

      Senior manager
      Current employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The entire building is in top notch condition. People are very friendly. The benefits are great, including a diner, gym and doctor onsite.

      Cons

Very fast paced environment. Can be pretty intense at times.

      Great culture and supportive environment

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Sweetwater is a great place to work! The company truly cares for its employees and provides the applicable benefits needed to care for their employees. It is the best work culture I have experienced in all of my work history. Working here is fun and fulfilling.

      Cons

Honestly, I don't have many cons working here. Some tasks can be overwhelming but Sweetwater truly cares about helping create a healthy work life balance, and helping each employee succeed in their role. They always encourage feedback and they actually listen.

      Good place to work at.

      Ap specialist
      Current employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Co workers and current manager are wonderful to work with. Flexibility if you have kids and need to maneuver your schedule a little for delays.

      Cons

Wish pay was a little better and the "other benefits" were not used as an excuse for it.

Sweetwater Academy Is Great to Work For

      Piano instructor
      Current contractor
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The Academy team is very good at communication and treats me well. The partial benefits are great, like discounts on food and music equipment.

      Cons

When contracting, you don't get full benefits like healthcare.

      Seasonal part-time employee

      Picking and packing
      Former employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Nice dining hall Quiet wearhouse Uncrowded bathroom Helpful supervisory (if ask a question)

      Cons

Long working hours (12.5 hrs) HR or Manager (unapproachable) No working benefits (especially if you are part time worker) Minimum pay with intense workload Lack of specific job description during interview Ask for overtime during your first shift Rude or mean coworker Lack of diversity

      Company Rating

      Sales engineer
      Current employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Upper management has open doors and is extremely receptive to feedback. The company is more than willing to work with you to ensure a healthy work life balance. You can make a great deal of money as you'll be 100% commission, so you are rewarded based upon your work ethic. The downside is that if you don't apply yourself, you'll likely fall flat on your face. One other thing worth noting, the benefits are great. There is an on campus gym with access to a free personal trainer. Likewise, there is a hair salon with a "spa". The cafeteria routinely provides a decent meal should you need one. This is in addition to the expected benefits of medical, dental, 401k, etc...

      Cons

There are some pain points, particularly on the IT side at times, but I wouldn't consider that a daily problem. Some managers are not as well equipped to advise the Sales Engineers as others are. For that reason, there does tend to be a disconnect between some Sales Engineers and their managers when it comes to running a healthy business. Overall, a great place to work, the pain points are far and few compared to many other competitors.

Rewarding career with great benefits, but challenging start!

      Senior sales engineer
      Current employee
      Fort Wayne, IN
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Wonderul place to have a career, amazing benefits and in sales you can work extremely hard and be rewarded for it. We have also loved Fort Wayne especially raising a family. Great cost of living and small town feel with big town amenities. Plus lots of great cities within a few hours!

      Cons

Beginning of the job can be grueling with constant phone calls and voicemails. Sales and phone calls are simply not for everyone. The roller coaster of commissions is real so you just have to get used to budgeting.
