What is the salary like at Trader Joe's?

      Trader Joe's reviews

      Great Environment and Benefits

      Business Outlook

      Pros

TJ's offers a competitive pay compared to other grocery stores, a 20% discount applied to all products for employees, a 401k program, PTO, as well as coverage for medical, dental, and vision plans. On top of this, the schedules are fairly flexible if you give them enough heads up.

      Cons

Really the only con is that some of the clientele can be a bit pretentious and over-bearing, although this doesn't happen too often and generally customer interactions are fine.

      Great place to work

      Pros

Flexible hours, fantastic management that really cares about their employees, path to promotions and opportunities for pay raises every 6 months

      Cons

I had a great experience here and would recommend Trader Joe’s to anyone considering this type of job

      Good experience

      Business Outlook

      Pros

positive environment training provided, tasks are relatively simple to learn encouraged to think for yourself and grow in your role if you want more responsibility 20% discount makes a huge difference budget-wise opportunities to receive feedback and improve target areas you don't have to think about work when you're not there - you get to mentally clock out completely great workout as long as you're safe and conscientious with your body pay isn't great but better than a lot of other service jobs very diverse and welcoming - you can express yourself fairly freely and they can provide pronoun pins if you want

      Cons

pressure to be positive when circumstances are less than ideal physically demanding, sore feet and back if you don't take care of your body and stretch/prepare adequately for your shift easy to get stuck in this job and become mentally complacent unpredictable schedule, new hires are often relegated to night shifts going as late as 10-11 pm the company is union-busting and the food is actually pretty bad for you

      Pros

Great benefits, initial pay is very competitive for this type of work, and good opportunities to grow and improve your income over time.

      Cons

Hours may not be as flexible as you like. Training may be hit or miss depending on who is training you for a specific task.

      Pros

      Cons

Sometimes you can feel like a worker bee & the customer ALWAYS comes first. The management is always so so understanding & communicative though.

Good pay and culture, but physically demanding work

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, great benefits, some perks

      Cons

Fear based management, no communication and hours are not guaranteed. Almost every decision is made by the captain of the store. If you get a bad one, don't bother contacting HR or the regional.
