      Pros

Check the stock price, this companies going no where fast. Leadership is absolutely obismal Culture is horrible because no body cares Companies in such bad shape the originally CEO is back involved because the current leadership is a joke. There is a massive problem here, but people are so fake they won't admit what they are seeing. Do not bring up problems, you won't get answers and ur forced to deal with them. Less then 20% of the company hits it's sales goals on a regular basis. The continue to lie as if the associates can't see the Titanic sinking. What I find the most funny, is the CEO runs behind each negative post and tries to flip the scenario like TrueCar wasn't and isn't the problem, while the stock price tanks. Do not work here, you will regret it. I am in contact with multiple people who work at TrueCar actively looking for another job

      Cons

You will need the good benefits for the therapy you will need after you realize leadership and the people care absolutely nothing about you.

      Pros

Great benefits and tech like perks

      Cons

Trust the reviews about frequent turnover and layoffs. The stock price should be a sign of who they are as a company. They have leaders in positions of power that don’t offer any substance outside of cheerleading. You have tenured employees that just mail it in and have no value. Favoritism is a real thing at true car. If the most recent layoff of their CRO should be a red flag for any potential employee. He was the only one that brought substance and value from a leadership position

      - Some of the brightest engineers I have ever worked with - Everyone is motivated and loves solving problems - Fully remote company - Lots of great benefits - Great work/life balance

      Cons

      - Fully remote can have its challenges. The social connection aspect can be harder to maintain. We have virtual meetups, game nights, etc, but we need to do more in-person hangouts. - Roadmap confusion at the c-level. We have a north star, but when you get down to specifics, different folks have different priorities and the c-level isn't always in alignment with itself.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and the kind words about our team and culture. We're thrilled to hear that you've enjoyed working with some of the brightest engineers in the industry and that our fully remote environment has supported a great work/life balance for you. Regarding your point on the social connection aspect, we appreciate you highlighting this challenge. While remote work has its advantages, we recognize that maintaining meaningful connections is crucial. In addition to our virtual meetups and game nights, we’ve been actively working on fostering connections at the team and function levels through off-sites. We’re also creating more location-based opportunities through Crew Connections, where employees can meet up in smaller groups based on their geographic area. We hope these initiatives will continue to build stronger bonds across the company. Your feedback on the roadmap is also valuable, and we continuously work to ensure better alignment through our EOS model including accountability org charts, quarterly rocks, and monthly all-company meetings. We’re committed to improving communication and clarity around our priorities to make sure that everyone is aligned and moving in the same direction. Thanks again for sharing your insights! We appreciate your continued dedication and are glad to have you as part of the team.

      Pros

At the manager & under level, Truecar has some genuinely nice people that want to work hard & accomplish company goals. They are sadly leaving - either because the see the outrageous toxicity or because they are being laid off - but there are a few remaining. If your function works with managers & below you are set! They also have very solid benefits - I imagine that will be changing in the CEO's single-minded quest for greed no matter the cost - but present state, they are affordable & fantastic.

      Cons

The 'idea' of what the company does - or the value it would provide a consumer (or the car dealer - the one paying for it) has eroded dramatically over the years. To the point where there really isn't much reason for TrueCar to exist at all. Consumers have better & more effective ways to buy at a good price, and dealers have better & more effective ways to get there cars in front of them. Its not that anything TrueCar is doing is wrong - its just an outdated model. Like going to work for Blockbuster renting videos... why would anyone want that? Its actively failing in front of their eyes. Aside from that, the ELT is very focused on cutting costs & efficiency - at the expense of growth, employee development, customer satisfaction, etc. The classic model of cutting 4 of the 5 people in a department & asking the 5th to do all the work (with no more money & no reduction in expectations) is all over every department here... TrueCar may not have invented it, but they've sure done it enough to perfect it. This is NOT a place to work if you want a semblance of WLB, or to feel fairly compensated for the work you do. The employees that still care (myself included) are all interviewing to go somewhere they feel less exploited - if you're coming in.... expect to be in a tricky spot

While we hope everyone has a great experience at TrueCar, we’re always looking for ways to improve. This year, we’ve been focused and transparent about our goals and priorities. If you ever feel unclear about how your role fits in or where you can make an impact, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your functional leader. They are here to help clarify the direction of the company and the important role each of us plays in our success. Our CEO firmly believes in taking care of the health and wellbeing of our employees while also offering challenging and meaningful work that keeps you engaged. It sounds like you’re struggling with work-life balance, and we want to support you in finding a solution that works for you. Pros

The main pros are related to benefits - health insurance covered 100%, unlimited time off policy, fully remote. The people (outside of management) were always awesome and great colleagues to work with

      Cons

This company is all over the place. Their vision has changed a hundred times, the new CEO used to be a CFO and it shows. He operates the business like a CFO would. He shows little compassion and is condescending. The whole C-suite are just his former friends that he hired from his previous company. They don't care about the people even though they say they do. And I always got the feeling that I couldn't trust any of them. Made me miss the previous CEO, he was a great and kind leader

Employees who feel uncertain of their goals or the company direction are always encouraged to reach out to their manager or functional leader and we'll work to provide clarity!

      Pros

I don't think there is anything left that is a pro here anymore. - A naive first-time CEO who doesn't know what he is doing has made a coup up top and is getting rid of anyone who doesn't say "Yes Sir" - No stock benefit, earned next to nothing here - No work-life balance - Barely any bonus, they don't have funds for anyone below VP - Little to no benefits especially since they have taken everything away since COVID ended federally

      Cons

Hope the CEO doesn't leave after bringing this company down to its knees.

Thank you for your feedback. As we enter 2024, we are excited about our new CEO and the vision our executive leadership team has outlined for TrueCar. Addressing fluctuations in TrueCar's stock prices, executive leadership has been transparent in discussing these matters during our monthly all-hands meetings. We've incorporated these insights into our company vision and outlined detailed one- and three-year plans. Our approach involves establishing clear goals with designated teams, and individuals held accountable for their contribution. Looking ahead to 2024, we anticipate an exciting period of transformation and positive change. As emphasized by our CEO in our January 2024 all-hands meeting, taking advantage of our flexible paid time off policy is crucial for employee well-being, encouraging everyone to recharge. Our wellness program further offers monthly opportunities for employees to engage in activities, challenges, and learning focused on physical, emotional, financial, and mental health. In addition, employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication, and bonuses were awarded to eligible employees, including VPs and below, based on individual performance in 2023. TrueCar offers comprehensive benefits to support employee well-being, including flexible paid time off (PTO) and an annual wellness stipend. Additionally, employees and their dependents can benefit from six coaching and six therapy sessions per year, fully covered by TrueCar. Our robust benefits package extends to 401k employer matching, learning and development opportunities like access to Udemy, and monthly stipends for internet and cell phones. In addition, TrueCar covers the cost of employee medical, dental, and vision at 100%. We are excited about the direction the organization is heading and the innovative products and services we can bring to our partners and consumers in the auto industry.
