      Review

      Veterinarian
      Current employee
      Cypress, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits and perks, decent pay

      Cons

LOTS of multilayered management which leads to poor communication among the different levels (eg multi-state directors to regional director to hospital manager), poor pay for technicians, training and support lackluster

      It’s fine

      Emergency veterinarian
      Current employee
      League City, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good clients, good pay, I like the hours, I like their scribe program, great benefits

      Cons

I hate woofware, but the scribe helps with that (however sometimes it does take a while) Bad rep, anyone’s hears VCA and knows it’s a large corporation, and the prices reflect it Upper management try’s to be involved, but they’re really just number pushers who don’t care about the team and don’t really know vet med.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how discouraging it can feel to be underpaid or under‑recognized, and we take concerns like this seriously. At VCA, we continue to invest in a comprehensive Total Rewards program designed to support Associates both professionally and personally. This includes competitive compensation, medical and financial benefits, paid time off, professional development opportunities, and well‑being resources such as mental‑health support. We are also focused on strengthening recognition and performance conversations so Associates feel seen and valued for the important work they do. Your perspective helps guide these ongoing efforts, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it.

It’s great to hear that you found value in the compensation and benefits offered at VCA. We work hard to provide a Total Rewards program that supports Associates both professionally and personally, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and well‑being resources such as mental‑health support and guided self‑care tools. Teetering the edge of comfort and burnout

      Licensed veterinary technician (lvt)

      Pros

Good discount (75% off and some things are free).

      Cons

Overworked, corporate/HR is typical stereotype that doesn’t care about your wellbeing. Comparing other clinic compensation, VCA has great pay but others pay even better.
