Working for a research institution can be nerve wracking due to major financial changes that can occur at the federal level that our people have no control over.

You get paid on time

Middle management is horrible. No accountability. No work life balance, managers talk to subordinates about other subordinates, gossiping amongst leadership, toxic environment. Overloaded with work, unrealistic expectations as a salaried employee expected to work 50+ hours including nights and weekends

Nothing I can really think of. Very flexible.

The work life balance is amazing. Plenty of PTO and a general culture/expectation that everyone will use their PTO. when on PTO your time will be respected and projects will often wait until you return.

They believe it’s a privilege to work there and do not adequately pay their employees for their work. Salaries are non negotiable and the equity standards keep anyone from receiving merit based promotions or raises.

You are able to move within the company easily. had wonderful work life balance and a chill boss
