I applied online. I interviewed at 50CAN (Washington, DC) in Aug 2019
Interview
I would be wary of interviewing for this company, I believe they use interviews as free policy research. I applied and had three screening calls, two of which had to be rescheduled last minute on their end. They were disjointed and repetitive and one was extremely unprofessional (interviewer used expletives, etc). They said I was a finalist and I was invited to do a work process exam that involved extensive research, analysis, and policy recommendations that required that I take a full day off of my current job. After submitting the work process exam, they never got back to me or returned my calls or emails. I genuinely feel that I was used for free research and analysis. Overall the process was very disjointed and unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Lost of policy-specific but open-ended questions such as "what do you think the biggest issue in education policy is"
I went through a phone interview then asked to take a work process test. The test was well over three hours but you were given only three to complete it. I took the test their last day in the office before their two week winter break. I waited to see if I heard anything back and two weeks after their break ended (four total weeks), I sent an email asking what the statues of my test was. I received no email response back which I think is incredibly rude when you've already went through numerous rounds of the interview process.

Question 1
How do you feel about the public school system in minority communities?
Would not recommend. Interviews lack structure and organization. Many repetitive and unnecessary stages. (ex: different rounds of interviews but all asked the same question) No respect or professionalism shown towards candidate. Complete disregard for candidate's time.
