I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ALDI (Manchester, England) in Oct 2014
Interview
First you'll get a group/individual (dependent on number of interviewees) with the area manager. He/She will ask a few questions based on application/CV, then ask a few questions about you and your homelife. the area manager then photocopies your P60 and informs you that you have a second interview with your potential store manager.
Your second interview with the store manager will start with a few basic questions while he tries to build a rapport with you. He gives you all the literature and a numeracy test. The interview ends with a work trial where you have to work a pallet/cage in your best clothes!! The store manager usually gets in touch with you within 24 hours and gets you back in store to sign your contract and other forms needed for your employment. You will then receive your uniform and that's it. Welcome to hell!!!
Group interview where you had to role-play scenarios about working in the store. Hard to actually get a word in and it was online which made it even more difficult.
Had a group online interview and I felt it was very hard to get any point across and it felt very over the top and the process seemed too long for what the job actually was
Started as a group where we were educated on the history and benefits about working at ALDI, and were asked what we think working at ALDI is like. Seemed like a good company with fair pay. The individual interview itself only asked availability.
