I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASOS (London, England) in Jan 2025
Interview
Clear and simple and the recruiter made it very easy to understand what to expect. feedback was also great after each stage. A timeless and clean process, whilst I didn’t get the job i’d be very happy to reapply knowing what i need to work on.

Interview
Was told I was going to have a 30 minute chat with a member of the talent team around the position and if I wanted to proceed with it, but they never showed up to the meeting. Should inform people if you're not going to attend an interview...

Interview
So, only a two stage process which is great! First interview is a general fit, a few technical questions but mainly on your past experience. I was also asked a bit about API design and creating your own caching system. This is a conversation/discussion, so overall it was good. Second interview was a 2 hour technical pair programming session. I thought it went OK, not great from my side as anyone doing pair programming can understand how difficult it can be an interview, I would have preferred a take home task. The problem I have is twofold (1) No such expectations were set that the task would be UIKit based, I spoke to the recruiter and we talked about SwiftUI, and he said that's perfect, but then i've gone and done a UIKit based technical task? Bit bizarre, at least set some expectations before hand so it's something I can go over? Also no indiciation on what the pair programming session would be about, is it API stuff/UI work/general Swift work? Some preparatory guidance would have been nice, instead I was just sent 'This is how to do pair programming'- seriously? (2) Really disappointing comms with ASOS in general. The recruiter was nice in our call, but he first doesn't even show up to the initial call, is late to the second, doesn't reply to emails, I've sent him emails twice in two weeks and he finally just dumps back some feedback to me 2 weeks later? This is not sour grapes, this is honestly disappointment at how unprofessional it was. The interviewers themselves were great!
