I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AVR International (Twyford, Berkshire, South East England, England) in Mar 2016

Interview

3 level interview, this began with the HR manager first of all who asked the usual questions about background, career path and choices. This was followed up with a 1:1 with the IT Manager who set a test paper and then some back and foward experience appropriate tech questions. Finally joined by the company Director for a general chat.

Interview

Initial phone interview with recruitment agency, before first stage interview with HR Manager. Then meeting with HR Manager and Sales Manager in person for formal interview. Final stage was again with HR Manager, Sales Manager and also MD, but met with all members of the team.

Interview

Started with a phone interview with the Head of Recruitment, followed by a face to face with the same Head of Recruitment and the Sales Director. Sales Director seems a fan of the "jack-the-lad" type salesperson, declaring his salespeople didn't care about the products they were selling, and that a salesperson with a technical background should stick to presales.

I'm sorry that you didn't feel that your experience interviewing with us was a positive one. Our sales people certainly do care about the products they are selling. With such a wide range of solutions on offer, our point was that you cannot know all of the solutions we sell inside out, the technical expertise comes from our technical pre-sales team. The focus of our account managers is to look after our customers first and engage our technical team, vendors and distribution to deliver the solution required.
