I applied online. I interviewed at Accion Labs (Pune)
Interview
I went through five rounds of interviews — L1, L2, Client Round, Delivery Head Round, and HR Round. Despite this lengthy process, they still seemed unsatisfied with my candidature. Interestingly, although each interviewer gave me negative feedback during discussions, I somehow cleared all the rounds.
During the Delivery Head round, I was asked some unexpectedly basic technical questions, such as the difference between HTTP PUT and PATCH methods. When I answered, another person sitting next to the Delivery Head questioned me, asking if I was copying the answer from somewhere. It felt as though they were doubting me throughout the entire process.
To make matters worse, there was a network issue on the Delivery Head’s side, yet he blamed me for it. After an hour-long discussion filled with trivial technical Q&A, he concluded by saying, “Let’s meet in the office and go through this round again.” I couldn’t believe it when he even asked me to share my screen and write code live.
My question is — if candidates are still expected to answer such basic technical questions in the Delivery Head round, then what is the purpose of all the previous rounds? Even the person sitting next to him knew the issue was with the Delivery Head’s network, but he didn’t say a word — probably because of hierarchy.
To add to the confusion, all of this happened after I received an email confirming my selection and asking me to share documents for offer letter processing. When I connected all the dots from each interview round, it became clear there was a lot of internal politics involved, even during hiring.
Only God knows what happens to those who actually join their team.
