    Project Coordinator Interview

    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Aecon (Lynnwood, WA) in June 2012.

    Interview

I applied through the university I study in. They contacted after 3 days confirming they received my application. After 2 week I got email saying my resume is still under review and they will contact me within 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks a senior manager called me and invited to his office for interview.

On the interview there were 2 senior managers including the one who called me. The next day after the interview they called me and offered the position.

    Junior Project Coordinator Interview

Anonymous Employee in Oshawa, ON (Canada)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Aecon (Oshawa, ON (Canada)).

    Interview

Typical behavioral interview, they call you to let you know they are interested and proceed to ask you a couple of questions about your career aspirations and why you want to work for Aecon (almost like a little trial interview). This is with HR person usually, and I was actually offered this interview for project coordinator based on my answer, even though i applied for a completely different position.

Actual interview was conducted between the same HR person and the project manager i was going to report to.

If applying to the nuclear industry, you will be asked if you currently have or will be able to attain a type 2 security clearance.

    Buyer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Aecon (Toronto, ON (Canada)).

    Interview

Phone screening and then 3 person panel interview.

Interview was extremely unprofessional excluding the HR girl. 1 manager barely said anything, the other was condescending, laughed at my questions and asked "when did you come to Canada since you can speak xxx language as on your resume". But the most biggest disrespect was when that same manager left in the middle of the interview during the question period as he had an important meeting to attend.

I was very excited to meet the team and learning more about the company but after this experience, I am more than disappointed and feel like I wasted my time.

    Student Worker Interview

    Interview

After the interview, I received a verbal offer on the phone saying that as long as my security clearance went through, the role was mine. She told me the hours and what I'd be paid. I even paid to notarize my documents for the security clearance, even though someone there could have done it they did not mention it until after the deadline to hand it in. I was told it was normal to start 3-4 months after being hired (10-12 weeks for security clearance). When following up after hearing my clearance went through they told me the person who hired me left the company and forgot to "close the loop" and they went with another candidate...the person who hired me called me 30 days after I submitted my clearance to check in with me and her voicemail still worked the week they sent me this e-mail. The interview was excellent, but I found this to be in very poor taste.
