I was initially contacted by a talent recruiter through LinkedIn, leading to a productive conversation where they outlined the role and responsibilities. Following that discussion, I was invited for an in-person interview with the managing partner.
During the interview, I found it surprising that the managing partner did not ask questions about how I could best support him or the team. Instead, the focus was primarily on the size of one of my previous employers. The meeting concluded with plans to schedule a Zoom call with another managing partner.
After sending a thank-you note and a reminder about the upcoming Zoom call, I did not receive a response for over a week. Eventually, the talent recruiter informed me that they had decided to pursue other candidates.
While I appreciate the opportunity to interview, I am ultimately relieved to have been declined. I seek a workplace that values effective communication and demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
