      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Allstate (Malvern, PA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

The interview will be about 45 mins, some math will be involved, Cons It's claims. Claims sucks. People are so unreasonable and angry they're in this situation to begin with. We only talk to people on their worst days and they take it out on us. It's tiring to get cursed out day in and out. You end up hating everyone in general, it sucks the soul out of you. The workload is unrealistically high but that's industry wide. Every insurance company hires just enough claims people to keep you frantically behind on your work at all times.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Kansas City, MO) in Dec 2018

      Interview

This was easily the most disorganized, thoroughly frustrating recruitment process I have ever experienced. First, I did a phone interview which well enough, the recruiter relayed, to advance me to an in-person interview with a management panel. I was explicitly told that there would be a managerial interview scheduled. Nearly three weeks passed, before I received an auto generated e-mail stating that AllState appreciates me taking the time to "interview in person." I immediately e-mailed the recruiter filling in for the recruiter I initially spoke to, who was on PTO from literally December 20-January 7, and advised that I had not had an in person interview and that I must have been mistaken with someone else. I received a contrived apology e-mail conveying that it should have said "phone interview." At this point, I was still under consideration at Allstate. I received another auto generated e-mail informing me that I'm still under consideration, and then at like 8PM CT a few days later, I receive an e-mail stating that I had not been chosen for the role. The deception through the process, the lack of communication, and the total disorganization, definitely tells me that AllState did me a favor by no longer considering me. Due to this, and the the fact that the insurance industry is moving to replace human beings with artificial intelligence, I have exited the industry entirely after several years in it.

      Interview

Overall it was a very nice experience, and I would recommend anyone looking into this field to apply with Allstate. I applied for this job in Clarksburg M.D. and everyone I came into contact with was incredibly nice, helpful, and welcoming. The whole process took about three weeks, you apply have a short phone interview, take a customer service assessment, and then are scheduled for an in person interview. Both the phone and in person interview are very laid back and they ask you behavioral questions. It was very much like a conversation and they encouraged me to ask them questions as well. The in person interview was about an hour and a half, but we had conversation going the entire time so it didn't feel like it was that long, and they made it very not stressful. So if I could give anyone advice going into it, just be yourself and show them that you are interested in the job. Make sure you research Allstate and especially the volunteer and community out reach things they do, the interviewers loved when I mentioned that. They are looking for people who can problem solve, and are not afraid to be leaders and work as part of a team. They are a very community oriented workplace, and they want to hire people-people.
