      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2008

      Interview

I was looking for job in security management so I started looking outside of my current company. I found one role in Amazon that looks interesting and I applied for it. After one week or so, I got email from recruiter that they like my resume and like to schedule phone interview. After the first phone interview, they wanted to have 2nd one on the phone. I said OK. After the 2nd phone interview, they send me mail for coming in to their HQ in Seattle. Since I was local, I gave them date and went their. First of all their HQ is in downtown seattle and they don't have any parking. I have to find parking in their bldg. underground for 10-15 min. and get to their bldg. on the other side. Their interview process SUCKS big time. I work for Microsoft where candidate is treated like a candidate not some prisoner who you locked in 10x10 small room. In Microsoft after each interview, candidate is left at the frontdesk and the next interviewer comes takes to his office. In Amazon it is like they were standing outside the door for bathroom in a airport. One interview hasn't finished and next knocked on the door. There is no pause or time for relaxation for candidate to think about what was asked in the previous interview. It's like in a court room and you are answering your case but given no time for break and stuff. Yes, there was lunch interview and went outside. There were total of 8 people freaking line by line waiting to get your inter* Btw I was not even interested in Amazon. I was just testing the water. I'm sorry I wasted my whole day and by 5PM my legs were hurting too much because of sitting in chair for 6 hrs continuously. Little advice to Amazon, improve your interview process. Give some space to candidates. Don't treat them like you own them already. btw I did T-mobile interview after that I got the job offer. T-mobile interview process is like Microsoft. Cool and professionally.
