I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who was interested in my background. I informed her that I was interested in Amazon but I was already in the interview process with a few other companies and that I expected an offer soon.
She fast-tracked me to the Online Assessment that same day. The OA is a mixture of behavioral and technical questions. They put you through a scenario where you need to read and respond to emails appropriately. Then there is a tech screening. It has a very wide focus for this position in AWS. They ask programming, web dev, hardware, security, networking, architecture, and troubleshooting type of questions.
I guess I scored yellow on the OA because I moved on to a 1-hour tech screening. Since I was on a fast track I didn't have time to check glassdoor interview questions. A lot of the questions are straight from these reviews. I was astonished at the level of debt and breadth they expect. It goes really deep into all of the areas I mentioned above. I could answer about 60% of the questions based on my experience. I had to be honest with the interviewer and tell him I did not know anything about a few topics. I can't really see them expecting you to be an expert in all of the topics they ask. I think they're just trying to get an idea of your depth in each area. To be honest, I don't think even cramming glassdoor questions would have helped me.
The recruiter and interviewers were very nice. There was also a shadow on my tech interview who must have been new but was on the team I was applying for. He was able to answer direct questions about the work. The interviewer didn't act negatively when I didn't know an answer. He kept the conversation flowing very well.
It was a difficult but great experience.
2 persons showed up on the second interview, straight from the beginning it was obvious that they don’t want me for so reason, still they dragged for one hour. Then I realised that this is a presale team and they are trying to fish for information about my current company - I work for big 4 bank. Then even though I started to act obviously weird they still kept going. Hilarious. Interviewers great of your current NDA.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
Interview consistent of a 1 hour phone screen over chime, followed by "the loop", which was 4 back-to-back 1 hour interviews. The interviewers were potential team members, the hiring manager, as well as a bar raiser. The questions were a mix of technical questions, as well as "functional" questions based on the leadership principles. Overall, the interviewers were professional but friendly.

Interview
Pretty lengthy process, scheduled multiple calls and made it to one of the final rounds, ultimately turned it down because there were multiple opportunities where the interviewers showed up late and I don't want to work for someone who doesn't respect my time.
