HOME BASED SERVICING - Customer Care Professional-13003234 Interview

      Mar 21, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Express in Mar 2013

      Interview

I applied for the position on the AMEX career website. After submitting my application, I received an email instructing me to take the assessments. I found the assessments a little more in-depth than most. After passing all of the assessments, I immediately received a call from a recruiter. ( within 5 minutes of completing the assessments). An interview was set up for the next day via phone. During the phone interview, I was asked about 4 questions.....Why do I want to work for AMEX, Tell me about your education, what was the most difficult part of your last job and tell me about a time when you went above and beyond your call of duty in your previous job. I was ready and prepared for all of the questions but the recruiter seemed very dis-engaged in the whole interview, almost robotic. She didnt respond to any of my answers, she simply moved on to the next question. At the end of the interview, I asked a few questions which she seemed very annoyed and gave me a one or two word answer. One of my questions I asked was what are some of the positions a Customer Service Professional can advance to with hard work and dedication for the company. Her response was that there were several but she wouldnt continue, she just wanted to move on to my next question. I only asked about 3 questions since she seemed annoyed.. The whole interview took less than 20 minutes and I felt like she hung up and tossed my interview in the " denied" pile. The next morning, I received an email saying I was not being considered for the position. I felt like I didnt have a chance with the recruiter. I know I met all of the criteria for the position and I feel that my answers to her questions were well thought out as I had definitely prepared for them.
