I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Income Life (Tukwila, WA) in Jun 2011
Interview
It was a joke. I went to the interview and then I was given a form to fill out. It was a form disguised to do a sort of personality test. Once I finished filling out the form, I was called in with a group of job seekers and their was an individual who proceeded to a group interview. Well, there was no one on one interview and the guy actually congratulated us for getting to the third stage of the interview; which seems odd because there was never a first stage.
He went on to explain the entire process and from the information I collected, the majority of those working for the insurance company at that location have been there for less than a year which seems strange to me. The presentation highlighted what we were going to do; basically going to peoples' house and selling our insurance products. Well, I was not interested because the "successful" would be paid based on the number of people he/she is able to sign on. It was a total joke and they basically want to hire anyone to do this job. The "joke" interview process was simply a procedure and the job is all about selling insurance product. Just note that if you want to work form 1-9 p.m and sometimes on weekend without even knowing if you were going to be able to sign on one person... good luck.

Interview
They talk more than you do and they take all of your questions in the beginning of the interview and wait until the end to answer them. This isn't really an interview but more of a sales pitch. They are trying to sell you on joining their pyramid model. They want you to become a "manager in training" meaning every sale you make, your manager gets a cut of.. then when you become a manager you have to recruit more people to sell under you. It's ridiculous that they treat this like an interview. They don't care who you are, they just want you to sell so they can make money off of you. The job is also 100% commission, they don't offer base salaries.

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at American Income Life (Omaha, NE) in Aug 2020
Interview
Not at all what I thought the job was. They purposefully hide what the job is until you get there... it’s quite ridiculous and unprofessional. It’s insurance sales... the company tries to market towards people looking for customer service or management positions.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American Income Life (Arlington Heights, IL) in Feb 2019
Interview
A three-step interview. Had a quick one-on-one, followed by a group interview, followed by another one-on-one. They don't really explain what you do until the last interview. I didn't find out it was a commission only job till the last interview. During the group interview they do an overview of everything and make the job sound amazing due to the money, but it's just another door-to-door sales job at the end of the day. If you're not into sales, don't bother with this company.
