The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American National Insurance (Galveston, TX) in Jul 2024
Interview
I do not know if I got the job because the process has been handled so unprofessionally. I haven't heard from them for months after the interview. I emailed the recruiter, and they mentioned that they would get back to me, but they stopped responding, leaving me confused and frustrated with how they managed the process.
The entire process took over a month, from an HR screening to an aptitude test and interviews with the manager and VPs. While the interviewers were nice, the overall experience was horrible and unprofessional. If you're considering applying to this company, I strongly suggest you reconsider. You will likely not receive any feedback and will end up wasting your time.
They really need to work on treating their potential candidates with dignity. Ghosting reflects poorly on the company, and I cannot stress this enough. The recruiting team needs to do better!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
HR Screen: A "tell me about yourself" session conducted via Microsoft Teams.
Aptitude and Personality Tests: These were very easy, and you can find similar ones online.
STAR Method Questions(Tell me when) with VPs and Managers: This was the only positive part of the process, as it was handled professionally.
Thank you for your feedback. This experience is not reflective of our standards, and we’re sorry we didn’t communicate clearly enough. We’re looking into the root cause of the problem so that we may correct it in the future.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American National Insurance (Texas City, TX) in May 2026
Interview
Thirty minute hr screening. Asked about experiences, programming languages, projects, and career goals, daily responsibilities, teamwork, problem-solving skills, technical challenges, workplace adaptability, and expectations. Also next steps.
Also next steps.
The interview process was straightforward and everyone I communicated with was kind. I started with an HR screening then setup an interview with managers a week later. The interview mainly consisted of behavioral questions followed by questions about specific technologies.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American National Insurance in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process was fairly straight forward, and easy to go through. Only nerve-wracking part was waiting for the interview offer, which took 2 months. Once I got the 1st interview, it was a phone call with HR that lasted about 15 mins. At the end of the call I got scheduled for the 2nd interview about a week later with 2 people in my department. After that I got I job offer almost 2 weeks after the 2nd interview.
