I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ancestry (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
An absolute disgustingly disorganized company and group of people who disrespect the time and value of their candidates. After putting in the time and effort in to what was a very straightforward interview they don't even bother to follow up. A simple phone call or e-mail would be very helpful, let alone a simple professional act after a candidate gives their time. The culture in this company is horrendous, people operate like drones. The people at the interview were nothing but corporate drones who provide no value but expect a paycheck. Despicable company at best.
The conversation went well and felt engaging. The candidate communicated ideas clearly, showed practical understanding of security concepts, and asked thoughtful questions. Overall, a positive interaction with strong potential for the role.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Ancestry in Oct 2022

I met with the hiring manager. Questions were asked around Java and overall background. Followed by meeting with the devs from actual team where I was asked about my background experience as well and technical questions. I was able to asks questions by the end of each interviews.
