First of all, I want to say that I'm a big fan of the company, fascinated by the work, and everyone I spoke to was kind and genuinely seemed very down to earth. I enjoyed every single interview I had.
I made it to the final round interview for the Vendor Analyst role. The process was three steps:
1. Initial phone screen with a recruiter - A few days after I applied I got an email to set up a phone screen that would last about 30 minutes. It covered questions about my background, information about the company and the role, and then some time for me to ask questions. I really enjoyed the conversation that I had with her and in the beginning she moved the process along efficiently and I was always aware of what was coming next.
2. Assessment - to be completed within a certain amount of time that was based on the work I’d be doing should I get the job. I think this was sent to me within 2-3 days of my phone screen. As someone who isn't always super eloquent in an interview, I really enjoy being able to complete an assessment so that I can show my skills and attention to detail. This step was a positive experience for me.
3. Final round interviews with 3 managers - Again, within about 2-3 days of submitting my assessment I got an email about scheduling my final round interviews and they were scheduled within the same week. This step was a lot more casual than I anticipated and all of the people I spoke with were very kind and I had great conversations with them.
Now to my concerns:
I was told I would probably hear back in about a week. Now I realize that probably meant more like 2, but it's now been 5 weeks. I totally understand that things are going on behind the scenes that I am unaware of and that they're extremely busy. What frustrates me is that I've followed up twice very softy asking for any updates and I've not received a response at all. Not even a "I have no news for you at the moment, but I'll let you know when I have an update" or "a decision hasn't been made yet". At this point I'd appreciate a rejection. Considering my final interview was April 20th and based on the feedback I had received, the recruiter mentioning that it usually doesn’t take so long, and how well it seemed like my interviews went, it’s very disheartening to be completely ghosted. Especially when the process moved very quickly at the beginning.
