The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Appian
Interview
Technical interview comprised of a whiteboarding session and a presentation. The whiteboarding session involved drawing out the design for an app that would solve a problem outlined by the interviewer. The presentation was on a topic that I was allowed to prepare for beforehand.

Question 1
What is database normalization, and what are the situations in which to use it?
Intro call with recruiter, then technical interview, then on-site final round. Interviews were not technically challenging but never received feedback from the recruiter (PoC also changed during the process). Other reviews describing the process are fairly accurate.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Appian (Washington, DC) in Jan 2025
Interview
Reached out by recruiter for a role as a Technical Consultant for the Public Sector team in DC. Had a follow-up interview and told him I was looking for Software Engineering roles and he said he'd reach out if he came across relevant roles.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Appian
Interview
I was referred to the role and after applying a recruiter reached out to me to set up a time for a call. After sending over some times that worked for me and my phone number the recruiter never got back to me. I followed up later asking if they were still interested. They responded saying they never got my email and a few times they were free to call. I sent back my availability and they confirmed the time they would call me. They never called me or followed up with me.
