I applied for a summer placement at ARM in their processor division. I received a phone call inviting me for a face-to-face interview at their Cambridge HQ. I had two interviewers, both were very friendly and relaxed both before and during the interview. I was asked some basic questions (e.g. what do you know about ARM?) and some stuff from my CV, but it moved on quickly to more technical questions which suited me perfectly. I was asked about what pipelining is, what the volatile keyword does and what the difference between the == operator and the .equals() function in Java is. I was offered a position roughly a week after the interview.
