      Sales Development Representative Interview

      Sep 7, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Autodesk (Denver, CO) in Aug 2017

      Interview

Horrible and unprofessional experience at the Denver office. The recruiter did not even bother to read my resume and opened the conversation by asking me what my salary was at my previous jobs. She minimized my education and experience and proceeded to tell me how much I was worth. The discussion seemed a bit premature in the hiring process. I was put off by the fact that she wasn't able to fully describe what the company does and the duties that I would perform on a day-to-day basis. When I asked about employee benefits, the recruiter could only tell me that her health insurance cost her $80 a paycheck. She didn't seem to know who the carrier was and what types of coverage is available. Other strange comments by the recruiter consisted of, "you could not have made THAT much money in your current job!" and "you live SO far south, how could you possibly come all the way downtown?" The hiring manager seemed overwhelmed, but presented as a professional. He too did not seem to have a detailed understanding of what exactly the company produced and danced around questions related to the job tasks. A few red flags from the hiring manager were raised when he said, "if you are exceeding your daily goals, we are going to have to have a conversation and if you aren't meeting your goals then that will be another conversation." This also felt very premature given where we were in the process and it seemed like he needed to exercise his authority (in an interview). Followed up with the recruiter and the hiring manager 3 different times (via email and phone) to check in regarding my status and did not EVER receive a response. Assumed that the recruiter does not have access to a template that says something nice like, "while we appreciate your time, we have decided to go with another candidate that is a better fit"

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Autodesk (Barcelona) in Oct 2025

      Interview

I went through three interviews with Autodesk. Overall, the timeline of the process was within what you might expect, but the coordination was quite chaotic, as interview dates took a long time to be confirmed. After the third interview — which required preparing and presenting a commercial-focused case study — I never received any feedback or final update. More than two months passed with complete silence. During that time, I followed up with the recruiter based in Barcelona who was managing the process. He suggested scheduling a brief call, but after I shared my availability, he never responded again. Because I was genuinely interested in the role and had invested significant time and effort preparing, I also reached out to the team manager who interviewed me twice and attended the case study presentation. Unfortunately, I never received a response from them either. This experience was very disappointing. Reaching such an advanced stage of the process without any closure feels disrespectful to candidates’ time and effort. While rejection is part of any hiring process, being completely ghosted — especially after multiple interviews and a case presentation — reflects poorly on the professionalism of the process. I had high expectations for Autodesk and was highly motivated throughout the process, which makes the lack of communication particularly unfortunate.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Autodesk (Ḩawwārah, Amman Governorate) in Sep 2019

      Interview

I have had 5 interviews with Autodesk. 1 phone interview with HR, 3 conference calls with Managers and the final one was face to face with Managers as well in Jordan where I am located. They were all super nice and professional I have to say. However; my last interview was on September 12th and I haven't heard back from them since. I mean even startups nowadays send a rejection letter. It is so unprofessional to leave your candidates hanging. I have missed out on 3 other job offers meanwhile I was waiting because I thought if I had made it this far, there should have been something good about me. I sent 2 follow up emails, if they just responded to the first one with rejection, I would not be completely jobless right now. What a waste of time and opportunities!
