My initial contact with Avid was via LinkedIn. Their HR reached out to me. Based on discussions with friends who have also been contacted by Avid, this is common for them.
I took a vacation day for the interview. I had e-mailed and talked to HR and a VP prior to the interview. They were very quick to respond.
The interview was somewhat disorganized, one person did not show up at the expected time so I sat there in the room.
The interviewers were friendly and extremely encouraging to the point of misleading. HR completely led me on - I was a fantastic candidate for them, we were talking about where to live in Philly, etc. It wasn’t about if I would get hired but when….and then the communication stopped ….
None of the primary folks have worked anywhere but Avid. I believe they brought me in to learn how to approach candidates. I felt used for my industry knowledge.
I wonder if my age impacted their decision - use me for the information, but try to hire someone younger....hard to say
